Name: Blackarachnia
Age: The equivalent to late twenties in a human
Gender: Femme
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Decepticon
Occupation/Specialization: Scout, saboteur
Appearance/Altmode: Blackarachnia is a smaller class of Cybertronian, and is noticeably shorter than Bumblebee (though a little taller than Arcee), as well as considerably more slender and female-like in appearance than the voiceless Autobot scout. Her body is black and shining brass in colour, with her eyes being jet black, unusually for a Cybertronian. Her body plates are smooth and glossy, giving her a streamlined appearance, and her head is more human-like than most Insecticons, though still obviously Cybertronian in nature. Her alt-mode's wheels are tucked up into her shoulders and the top of what, in a human, would be her calves, and much of it's bodywork forms her armour, though the small, spider-like appendages protruding from her arms (these form part of the altmode's bodywork) and almost chitin-like appearance of her metallics betray her Insecticon heritage. She also has three, more organic-looking fingers on her hands as opposed to the usual four or five. Her head is shaped much like a human wearing an old-fashioned and simple warrior's helmet, with an understated crest on the top bearing a red “hourglass” symbol, and her mouth is filled with sharp, needle-like teeth. Her Decepticon brand is to be found on her collar.
Blackarachnia's altmode is an Alfa Romeo 2014 Spider, in a black colour scheme with brass or dark golden metallics. A stylised black widow spider can be found in place of the Alfa Romeo logo on the front of the car. In order to blend in, Blackarachnia also makes use of a holographic driver, who appears to be a fashionaly dressed human female, wearing sunglasses and a black dress.
History:
Originally a member of one of the Insecticon hives that lived within the under-areas of Cybertron, Blackarachnia was somewhat unusual in that her intelligence and sapience was far more developed than the drones around her. She was one of a few individuals in the Insecticon hives to have such mental ability, and while it made her cunning, not to mention dangerous, it also led to her dissatisfaction with her standing in the world. When she discovered that the world she lived in looked down on her as a mere simple beast, Blackarachnia allied herself with the Decepticon forces that were now conquering vast swathes of Cybertron. She did so in the hopes of avenging the insults inflicted by the former autocratic society, as well as helping to build a new, freer one and earning the reward of independence by doing so. She rapidly found her talents to be extremely useful as a saboteur and scout, partially due to her own cunning nature and inventive use of cybervenom, and also due to her opponents consistently underestimating her; after all, who would have suspected an Insecticon of possessing such intelligence?
With the war coming to a close, however, Blackarachnia once again became dissatisfied with the way her life was going. Working with the Decepticons had been liberating at first, but with Megatron's control tightening and with the his forces dominating almost all of Cybertron's surface, she soon found herself feeling confined and looked down upon again. It seemed that the problem wasn't the job itself; violence, particularly violence aimed at those who supported the autocrats, was as enjoyable as ever. The real problem was that she simply couldn't stand being caged by anything, even by supposed allies. Worse, the same prejudices that she had railed against in the Autobots also existed in the ranks of her new allies and comrades. However, simply fleeing the planet and leaving the war entirely would burn too many bridges, and she had absolutely no interest in being hunted down as a traitor – after all, that'd defeat the point of being free as a shooting star to do whatever she wanted. Instead, she modified the description of her mission in the official Decepticon datalogs; given the Autobot exodus to Earth, she would follow them there under her own means, and harass their attempts to establish a base on the planet. With that, and without bothering to wait for an official reply to her proposed new purpose, she outfitted a small stealth ship and fled Cybertron, aiming for Earth... and for freedom from interference.
She made planetfall in the southeastern United States, landing in the Nevada desert. There, she found two things of interest; a beautiful, sleek human car, which she scanned as her altmode, and a spider, small but deadly, that had become famous amongst the local sentient life-forms as dangerous. Naturally, the thought appealed to her. Contrary to what she had told the Decepticons on Cybertron, Blackarachnia spent most of her time on earth building up her own resources and merely watching for signs of Autobot activity rather than actively harassing them; after all, while she took a great deal of pleasure in wrecking the best-laid plans of the people who'd supported the systematic discrimination of her species, it paid to remain subtle. Unfortunately, with the arrival of the Nemesis, the resumption of major hostilities and the return of Megatron to command the Decepticons' Earth-stationed forces, Blackarachnia's desire for independence and the freedom to act against the Autobots as she wishes seems under threat once again.
Personality: Blackarachnia is a ruthless and cunning member of the Decepticon faction, and cares for very little besides herself. Being a sentient Insecticon, she has developed a considerable independent streak, and takes insults aimed at her heritage extremely badly. She is vicious when dealing with opponents or perceived threats, and usually likes to catch her enemies by surprise, or even better, manipulate them into a particularly unexpected trap. She is also very fond of poisons, even more so since coming to Earth and receiving some inspiration from the local life forms, and loves to watch their effects on people, the better to understand how to create even more potent versions later on. If there is one thing Blackarachnia can be said to despise above anything else, it's confinement; she cannot stand being rigorously controlled or caged, and trapping her in such a situation will bring out the absolute worst in her.
As Blackarachnia is an Insecticon, there are certain parts of her personality which derive from this. She is linked to the Insecticon hive-mind, and also shares that race's predisposition for following strong-willed commanders. However, as she is of commander-class intelligence herself, it is likely that any encounter with another such insecticon or Decepticon would result in a fight to determine dominance or (in the case of the latter) some clandestine agreements that benefit both parties... until Blackarachnia decides otherwise, of course. She is also distinctly unfriendly to anyone she perceives as being prejudiced towards her or otherwise judging her because of her heritage, and due to the Autobots' association - in her mind - with those who judged and culled the Insecticons, she is generally speaking inclined to shoot them first so that there's no point in asking questions later.
Likes: Independence, cybervenoms, ambushes and traps.
Dislikes: Insults about her being an Insecticon, being caged, being forced into anything, is not overly fond of Autobots.
Strengths/Weapons:
Crossbolt gun: Blackarachnia's right arm houses a crossbolt gun, a weapon designed to either function as a light blaster – equivalent in human terms to a large calibre pistol – or a launcher for a dart carrying a cybervenom payload. The dart is capable of piercing light to moderately armoured areas on a Cybertronian, and upon impact delivers the venom. The cybervenom itself causes immense pain, and after a few moments will cause moderate to serious paralysis, depending on the size and power of the affected Cybertronian. Though it's effects will wear off after about ten to fifteen minutes (in Earth time), that's not an issue for Blackarachnia – that's all the time she needs, after all.
Wrist Blades: When engaged in close-quarters fighting, Blackarachnia can fold out four organic looking wrist-mounted combat blades, two attached to each wrist, with which she can fight off the sort of opponent who likes to beat down their enemies. They are incredibly sharp, but as Blackarachnia herself is not particularly strong or durable, they are used either as a weapon of last resort – such as if she's cornered – or in situations where she knows she can get the first strike in.
Agility and Acrobatics: Like many of the smaller kinds of her race, Blackarachnia is very agile, and it's this which forms her main advantage against larger and more powerful opponents. While she isn't in their league when it comes to her ability to take damage, she is very much a master of outmanoeuvring opponents, and she knows it. Due to her insect-like anatomy in robot mode, she is also capable of clinging to walls and ceilings for short lengths of time, and has a remarkably high jump height.
Intelligence and Cunning: What Blackarachnia lacks in durability or strength, she makes up for in sheer strategic intelligence. While she's not a fan of the way other Cybertronians view her, she is more than happy to play upon the idea of the “dumb Insecticon” to take them unawares, or sneak into a place using methods nobody would suspect an Insecticon of being able to fathom, let alone execute. She is also something of a fan of ambushes and traps in general, and has some skill in setting them up for maximum impact.
Saboteur Skills: Naturally, any saboteur worth their salt knows how to be quiet and careful, and where best to place the explosives on a structure to do the most damage. Blackarachnia is well-versed in the art of stealth, and is competent when it comes to figuring out where an explosion or cut power line would have the greatest effect. She is also capable of making crude but effective explosives out of the materials available to her.
Weaknesses:
Overconfidence: Her status as a commander-class Insecticon often goes to her head, and while Blackarachnia is normally careful to avoid risks, her own self-belief – which often borders on arrogance – can leave her prone to taking unnecessary risks, some of which backfire rather badly. In addition, she has in the past underestimated opponents who she believes inferior to herself, and thus allowed them to get the upper hand in fights she would otherwise have won.
Fragile: Blackarachnia can dish out offence when the circumstances are stacked in her favour, but she absolutely cannot take it. Her armour is weak and easily overcome, and larger robots such as Prime or Megatron would utterly devastate her in mere moments, were they to engage her in a straight-up fight. In addition, due to her small frame, she is not particularly strong either, and while the sharpness of her blades and her reaction speed go some way to making up for that, it remains that in any kind of test of strength, she will most likely be on the losing side. Blackarachnia is, in effect, a glass cannon; she has to rely on speed, cunning, and her opponent not expecting her, or else the fight will most likely go very badly for her.
Special skills (that are not weapon related): Blackarachnia is something of an enthusiast when it comes to poisons and venoms, and can readily identify several different kinds of earth-based toxin already as well as create effective antidotes for them. She also speaks the language of the Insecticons, as well as Basic and several others.

Sample RP (only for first accepted characters):
It was a quiet night, and the guards stationed at the Autobot weapons cache seemed run-down and distracted, perhaps due to the discouraging news from the front lines. Either way, their attention was elsewhere, and that was just how Blackarachnia liked it. Softly, quietly, she scaled the cliff-side that led to the eastern-most side of the cache. The cliff itself was the most unguarded part of the entire installation; perhaps it's builders had assumed that anything trying to attack it would either come from the large expanse of land to the west, or try to fly in, both of which would be hard to achieve without the attackers being seen.
Of course, she did neither of those things, instead taking the unthinkable third option, and that was why she felt so confident in success.
Close to the top of the cliff, there were several tiny caves, no more than extended dents into the thing itself, and it was into one of these that Blackarachnia hauled herself. For a moment, she became as still as the cliff around her, listening for any alarm, any sign she'd been spotted. A few moments passed, tense and totally, utterly still, as her audiosensors strained to pick up any signs that the game was up, and that the mission must be abandoned. Nothing.
Good.
Carefully, she placed a small mine on the roof of the cave she was in, then another, and another. Around five kliks passed, all of which went by in a kind of tense, alert flash, as she rigged the cave to explode. If her estimates on it's location were correct, and they usually were, this'd really bring down the house. Smirking, she finished her task, then froze as a searchlight appeared in the gloom outside sweeping back and forth across the valley upon which the cliff looked. Did they suspect something? Impossible, she'd covered her tracks too well. And yet, with the beam cutting nearer and nearer to her little hidey-hole, Blackarachnia began to worry that...
With a final sweep, the searchlight and whoever was using it left, apparently satisfied that all was well. In the cave, Blackarachnia relaxed, before smiling. Of course they hadn't seen her. Now, with the explosives placed and timed, it was time to leave the place to it's fate. Scuttling back out of the hole and down the cliff, she made for a much quicker pace than the one she'd set getting up there. Stealth wasn't so much the issue now; time was. She had only four kliks to go before the first of the bombs blew. Anyone else would probably have panicked, she thought to herself. But her? No. She was way too good at this for that. Smiling viciously, Blackarachnia crawled off the cliff and moved to a safe place, settling there and preparing to enjoy the show.
