Setting: Aral Sea, near Kazakhstan
Time: Week One, day Five.
Despite her best efforts, Roulette actually survived the last cycle. True, she couldn't even look in Megatron's direction without thinking seriously damaging, distracting things. Nor did she get to throttle the damned cassette like she'd wanted to. But! She'd managed to be successful in her endeavors with Pyrotech and in turn, that made Shockwave something remotely resembling happy. Which was a feat when the mech couldn't even properly define the word much less express gratitude.
He did, however, reward her behavior and while it annoyed her that she was being treated like a lab specimen that performed well under tests, she wasn't about to throw any handouts from her. His rewards were always lacking a certain air of personality. He wouldn't know a promotion if it bit him on the aft. Which is how she was granted the task of, you guessed it, checking on another of his flipping sensors. When asked just how many of the stupid things he had, she received a frightening figure and a bleak future if all of them were to go down.
But she was assured this location was to her "specifics." Which frightened her at first. What the pit did the mech know about her to make that decision? Any number of ways this could have gone bad went through her processor as she went through the bridge. She almost expected to step into...well, she wasn't quite sure. But knowing Shockwave, it'd be unpleasant and ridiculous.
Instead, she stepped out onto a scrub dessert that was mostly rock and warm, balmy weather that caressed her plates. She took a moment to look around and bask in the heat. The Nemesis might be the home for the moment but it was always at a weird temperature given the way it cleaved through the atmosphere. Here, the heat was pleasant and made her lazy.
She stepped to the edge of a broken, long forgotten stone foundation and surveyed the area while passively reading about the location on her HUD. Everything she could have wanted (and too much she didn't need) was in the data packet given to her by her superior. So, this was what environmental ruin looked like. Pretty.
Without preamble, the femme hopped off the ledge and started across the flat landscape, aiming for the chasms ahead and the strange shapes looming in the distance. Toward the horizon the land started to roll into uneven rises and abrupt drops into what was once underwater crevices. The wind brought a distant tang of salt that clung to her olfactory filters. It was oddly pleasant and quiet, even if the wind sighed over the land.
I could get used to this place. As long as there are no creepy crawlies here. Now where the slag did he hide that sensor?
