Bumblebee didn't quite share the disappointment or confusion that Carbine did over Bolo's indifference toward the items. After all, he'd only been made aware of this little predicament today, moments earlier, whereas Carbine had had weeks to mull it over. This was his big 'Eureka!' moment! Only it... Hadn't quite worked out like that. There was no response from Bolo indicating that the two items were related, which to Bee meant they had to go back to the drawing board and maybe tackle it from another angle.
To Carbine? Well, he didn't seem pleased by this - and he wanted to try again with this approach. Was it because he was so determined to solve this? Or because he'd thought of every other possible outcome and this was the only one that made sense to him?
Bee would shift his weight as the ex-cop once again offered out the two objects toward Bolo, but wouldn't say anything – keeping quiet so the two could work. Maybe Bolo had gotten it wrong the first time? Carbine knew best, he had been a cop and so knew things like this better than Bee did. Maybe Bolo had needed time to process it and double check – hence the secondary sniff? Either way, Bee wouldn't question it.
Sadly, the same reply was given - where Bolo looked away dismissively from the items presented to him and no reaction was had. No again. At least that cemented it; it wasn't the Decepticon who Carbine had got the knife from. Which also meant that it was now open again to a possible Autobot murdering Autobot. Which was great.
The static, garbled attempt at words drew his attention away from Bolo, and he'd glance upward to look at Carbine. He had firsthand experience in Carbine's little... Defect. Only this time it'd happened on its own and not due to a well-positioned smack to the helm with a steel beam. Since he'd seen it before, and sympathized, because well, he couldn't exactly talk normal either? He'd give a loose roll of his shoulders and turned his gaze away so he wasn't staring or making Carbine feel self conscious about the whole thing. He wouldn't try to talk, knowing Carbine couldn't understand him anyway. He kinda wanted to play with Bolo in this moment of downtime but it probably wasn't appropriate.
Ah well. He could, and would wait for Carbine to be okay again. It wasn't like he was doing anything else or had anywhere to be. The quiet was a good time to process thoughts about who it could've been... Even though that'd been mulling over in his processor since the start. It couldn't be anyone at the base, could it..? Mirage, maybe... Carbine had said the slices were clean and he was sure he was the type to have blades that could do such a thing. But again the question as to 'why' was brought up.
Maybe now there was a truce they could just ask the Decepticons? Not that he expected them to give an answer as to who or why, but they could possibly confirm? No... That was a silly idea. The truce was in place to deal with MECH, they didn't have to tell the Autobots anything about things that'd happened prior.
He'd start to pace again, frowning gently. This wasn't like those cop shows he saw on TV where they could run a scan off DNA and it showed an entire picture of the victim and who they were. This was real life and he was pretty sure they couldn't do that. Maybe he should think back to what they did on the shows, though. Usually they returned to the scene of the crime to gather clues, but it'd been weeks since Carbine had found the remains, so would be moot point by now... It hadn't come up on any human broadcasts that he knew of, or it'd be all over the news about an alien lifeform, and Fowler would've exploded with rage - so there would be no information from that source... Nobody had been acting any different than normal that he'd noticed, then again he didn't really pay much attention.. No Decepticons had bragged about it...
It really was a mystery, one that he really really wanted to solve! This was going to bug him forever now! Thanks Carbine!
His thoughts went back to the scene of the crime, though. Maybe there were other clues in the area that Carbine had missed – like on the surrounding streets. He'd said the body had been dumped there, which meant someone had gone there with the intention of leaving her there – and while it was a long shot - a really long shot – maybe there would be something. Even something small. The next piece of this puzzle.
Now he knew how Carbine felt in wanting to get this solved, though. Eager, impatient, and beyond frustrated by it all.
He'd continue to pace back and forth, thinking, and waiting for Carbine to reset his systems to the point that he could talk.
