The dark yard was silent, except for the far off rumble of some distant machinery. The myriad of cars sat on criss-crossing tracks. From their vantage point, both Steelstrike and Skywarp would see several cameras focused on the fence line. They were moving slowly back and forth, swaying silently as they kept a watchful eye on the perimeter.
Within moments of their landing in the rail yard, there was a chirp on their commline, over that same channel that they'd used earlier.
"Bill here," said the voice that followed quickly after the polite ping, "See your signature, so we're going to shut the cameras here down in about fifteen seconds."
"The boss says that what you're looking for will be on the far side of the area. They've unloaded it last night, so chances are it's going to be very close to the crane where they unload. You're going to want to be careful, there are a few humans that walk through on patrol, and a few trucks that drive on through. Been told to tell you to keep as low of a profile as you possibly can, but you're probably going to have to do a bit of searching. Not sure what car it's in."
"Totally not sure," chimed another mech. "Last time they shipped stuff in, it was in a Chessie system rail car, a green one. It'll say it on the side of the car. No idea what carrier they're using this time but it's a start. All right, get ready to hop yourselves over the fence."
"Shutting down camera in ten," Bill replied. "Nine. Eight..."
He counted down, and just as he finished, the second Vehicon's words broke through again. "Excellent! Cameras down! Go go go, everyone! Give us a quick ping when you're ready to get out, we'll shut 'em down again!"
