Week 3, Day 2, Mid afternoon
Rail was still fairly tentative around Omega Base, too many new faces, an alien planet, and less that one day so far spent adjusting. He was still trying to slot himself into the squad, not impose, and overall be useful. The fact that it was Optimus Prime's squad, the de facto last Autobot squad only added to Rail's delicate nerves.
He had made himself useful. The last couple of hours had been spent repairing the railing to the walkway used by the much smaller humans. It was delicate welding work mostly, by the standards of someone four times taller than the humans who would use it. At the end when Rail considered the job done, he was proud of the tidiness of the work. The energon scout began looking for something else to do. Some minor house keeping brought him to the "lounge" area used by Raf and co. There were marks where a couch had been and what may have once been a coffee table. Rail knew something had gone down and chosen not to pry, though he was quite curious, and concerned for those involved.
Rail couldn't help notice the cute tiny - by his standards - TV and other technological artefacts of human habitation. What caught his optics in particular was a Cybertronian data pad with expertly spliced wires from the back leading into some device he did not recognize. It had another data pad similarly modified, but unplugged and to the side and three small controllers of some sort easily identified as being made for human hands. The device had some sort of stylized manufactures logo and was itself plugged into the TV and an electrical outlet common across America. The scout looked around to see if he was alone and gingerly depressed the ON button. The box whirred and a red light turned green but nothing else happened. Where was the TV ON button?
