Miko had been totally ready to turn on the waterworks - she’d perfected the art of looking sad at times to get her way, and she’d expected this to be one of those moments. Only… It seemed it probably wasn’t needed, and she found herself feeling even more genuine sadness at how quiet Raf was when he spoke. She realized she took Bulkhead for granted at times - he hadn’t been in the corridor when Bumblebee had snapped and attacked people. But what if he had been? What if he’d been laying hurt in the medical bay all this time, too?
It’d been days now, and Raf hadn’t been able to see his friend. His best friend. Not once!
She didn’t know what she’d do if the roles were reversed and it was her trying to get in and see Bulk! Well, no, she would’ve tried to break every rule in the book - sneaking in after someone and hiding, or trying to break the door with a rock or something, or even climbing in through a vent - but that’d get her into more trouble no doubt. Probably why she’d been quick to admit her lie. Honesty was the best policy sometimes, and she didn’t want Raf to get into trouble or even banned from the medical bay or the base entirely because of her idea!
At hearing Raf’s words, Patch just had to say yes. If it were Ratchet, he probably would’ve told them to forget about it and send them on their way, but Patch… she seemed nice, and a lot younger than cranky old Ratchet. While Miko wasn’t expecting her to break any rules - after all she was an Autobot and had to listen to Ratchet and Optimus, maybe she would be willing to bend them. Just this once. Just to see Bumblebee, if only for a second.
She was quiet in the few short moments while Patch thought it over. It seemed to linger forever, though. She didn’t want to add anything or blurt something out and mess it up - Raf needed to see his best friend, and she wanted to be there for Raf, even if it meant being quiet.
She was expecting a ‘no’ - that’s what anyone else would’ve said, she was sure. But-
Her expression lit up the instant the word ‘Okay’ was said, she couldn’t help it! And she’d nod vigorously at the next words as if giving her own confirmation that Raf meant what he said! If she verified it, too, it had to be fact, right?
“Don’t worry! Raf is super quiet - he’s like a little mouse! Thank you!!” she spoke quickly. Even if she didn’t get to go in, as long as Raf did, that’s all that mattered.
