<<Set sometime after Jazz has taken up with Ironhide and Chromia but before Bluestreak has joined them.>>
Jazz wasn't sure what hit the base, only that it hit HARD. He'd heard it coming, through the walls, through the atmosphere, through the FLOOR, and something about the exponential increase in the whistling, streaking NOISE had made him offline his audios and duck for cover, sending a largely useless alert through the base's commnet.
Largely useless because about five nanokliks later the thing rocked the entire structure, sonic waves bursting like physical waves on the Rust Sea against the old building's exostructure and ringing through the whole thing like the bell of a speaker. Said exostructure vibrated wildly for an instant and then shattered in many places, bringing down ceilings, girders, and chunks of walls.
Well, Jazz thought, as he uncurled from the defensive ball he'd huddled into and eyed the roof of the rec room like it might come down on him (because it might). Looks like we're leavin' here a bit faster than we'd planned.
::Red, status?:: Jazz sent as he made sure that the other 'Bot in the room was rattled but ok. The scout shook her helm to clear it but burst Jazz the base map before trotting off to take her post. Jazz wished her well, but not well enough to go help.
He was on a mission. He had a security director to keep safe. Well...find, first, then keep safe.
A security director that still hadn't answered Jazz's hail. ::Red. Where you at? Talk to me. RED!::
If Red Alert had gotten himself killed on Jazz's watch, Jazz was never going to live it down.
