Name: Labyrinth
Age: human equivalent to early/mid 50s
Gender: Mech
Appearance: Labyrinth is roughly Bumblebee's height (a bit shorter than Shadow), but not quite as heavily built. His primary color is a dark but intense blue, with black and small amounts of white as secondary colors. When he discovers Shadow is with the Autobots he is going to deliberately select an alt mode from the same era as hers, specifically a 1969 Ford Mustang, as a visual reinforcement that she is "his", rather than the Autobots'.
Faction: ostensibly Autobot, really out for himself
Occupation: recon
Likes: mind games, control, covering his own aft
Dislikes: being betrayed or defied (though he has no trouble betraying others), losing what he sees as his
Strengths: brilliant, observant, able to take scraps of information and accurately draw conclusions (essentially, the Cybertronian Sherlock Holmes), has no compunctions about manipulating others
Weaknesses: tends to underestimate true loyalty (as opposed to the sort he manufactured in his unit), is not an intuitive fighter and is at a disadvantage against those he didn't train/doesn't know well
Personality: Extremely possessive and utterly lacking in ethics, but nonetheless extremely charismatic.
History: In the early days of the war, Labyrinth was something of an idealist, and absolutely dedicated to using his skills to help achieve an Autobot victory with as little loss of life as possible. Unfortunately, a traitor in his original unit leaked information which not only led to the slaughter of hundreds of innocents, but to the deaths of almost the entire unit.
His idealism shattered, Labyrinth became obsessed with loyalty, not to the Autobot cause, but to himself personally. Although his skill at anticipating Decepticon movements and uncovering information was still sought, he became less and less able to work with those assigned to him. Ultimately, he sought and received permission to hand pick his own unit, but to the shock of everyone, instead of selecting experienced recon and special ops personnel, he hand picked a dozen of the youngest mecha he could get away with using and trained them personally, using his own charisma - and eventually, the Lucky Thirteen's reputation for effectiveness - to keep anyone in the Autobot hierarchy from looking too closely at his training and disciplinary methods.
Blind loyalty from his unit and an equally blind eye from his superiors were not enough, however, and when Labyrinth got wind of a piece of Fallen technology he sent his team out to gather information not for the Autobots, but for himself. Unfortunately for the Lucky Thirteen, when Barricade began hunting and killing them for their data, Labyrinth's true colors surfaced. Rather than warning his unit when he learned Barricade had killed Cam and Viper, he created a symbiont, a perfect body double for himself, and partially corrupted its neural net to limit its ability to learn and become an independent entity, thus keeping it a dependent puppet and allowing him to remain safely in hiding.
The surviving members of the Lucky Thirteen had no reason to suspect this switch when Labyrinth abruptly summoned them to rendezvous with his ship (hoping to collect the remaining data before Barricade managed to hunt down any more of them). Unknown to Labyrinth, Barricade had managed to kill a third member of the unit, and infiltrated the meeting using Relay's ship. Taken by surprise at Barricade's attack in what they had always considered their only safe space, the Labyrinth double and eight of the nine surviving members of the unit were killed. The double transmitted his accumulated information to the one survivor, Shadowrunner, along with a tracking frequency which Labyrinth could activate at will if he ever wanted to seek her out.
