Dart actually chuckled at his first comment. A little sloping smile crossed the corner of her mouth as she picked her way forward into the darkness. Water had collected in a depression; the courier didn't avoid it like some mechs tended to - she simply padded right through with a splish and tracked a few wet footprints behind her.
"The running and dodging part of me? That part I love, yeah," she agreed, as the red light from his blaster gleamed off the unrusted bits of the rails.
"Er, the other part might have been a bit easier if my alt mode was something that had better clearance off road."
She shook her head. "Pontiac, we build excitement..." she quipped, quoting the old commercial jingle. "Yes, you sure do, Pontiac. When a Trans Am hits a pothole going forty, it's an adventure. Owch."
Car humor. Not that anyone else might get it (or care) but it was just funny and helped sort of push away other thoughts. Then again, she'd gotten used to the limitations of her alt mode. The only folks who took a second glance now were either car geeks or humans who had grown up on Knight Rider.
She stepped over the rail line again and sniffed along the edge of the wall with a soft huff of her intakes. Then she glanced up at the ceiling as they stepped out into the junction. Dart paused and looked down the main line, and then turned her nose towards the left. A thoughtful look crossed her face as she dropped back down into a crouch to sniff along the ground and she carefully inspected the dirt, the tire tracks. The moisture and still air kept the scents here, and yes... there. She frowned.
Dart rose back to her feet and huffed out a bit of air. "Both ways, sir," she said, and then shifted her weight from foot to foot as she tried to get rid of the scent of poor Breakdown's injuries. "Forward, that's where most of them went, but then the ones carrying what they took from Breakdown - they went that way."
Dart gestured to the northwest.
Her spoiler clicked back up and pricked over her shoulders, and then she turned to him. "They have to have two exits, then. Well, at least two. I can’t see them having storage there, or leaving things behind if they were so bent on taking them. They've not been back this way since their initial exit. Which way do you want me to trail, sir?”
