Aaand there it was. Or rather, there it went. Mirage's signal winked out and off Zoom-Zoom's sensors.
Time to get the frag out of here.
Zoom-Zoom's dampeners switched on as he stepped back, shielding him from conventional sensors and turning off his own. A precaution he felt somewhat unnecessary, if Raj was ghosting like himself, then it was highly likely the other mech's sensors would be off as well. Still. No reason to be careless.
The minibot didn't stay in one place. The shots would have provided a clue to his location, so as soon as Mirage's spark signal had vanished on him, he was moving up along the south wall through the thick smoke. His instincts proved to be correct when he heard the clink and rattle of...something metallic. Zoom-Zoom's attention focused on his audials as he crept away. That initial noise was followed up with a whistling-
Mirage had thrown something at him. Zoom-Zoom ducked down and flattened himself against the wall, thanking his lack of height for once. One of his door panels however jutted out above him - all thanks to the damn new alt-mode configuration- and he felt the impact of whatever it was -blade, knife?- lightly rake across the panel before striking the wall behind him and spinning off away from him.
Right.
Zoom-Zoom didn't stop to check his panel, the hit had been light and nowhere near a main energon line so his self repair should take care of it without a problem. Instead, he focused on escaping. The door to the room -of course- was located diagonally opposite from him, to his left, according to the mental map he'd built. To his right, he labelled most of it as 'Possible Place Mirage Could Be Hiding In, Avoid."
Behind his visor, Zoom-Zoom's optics narrowed in annoyance. There was a barrel drum located just a little further up ahead if he recalled correctly...
And, he was right.
Zoom-Zoom hefted up the drum and threw it hard towards the east wall as he himself scuttled forward, darting around a shelf he could not see but knew was there and hopefully was now between him and Mirage. His chosen projectile would bounce and rebound further up the room. The rolling drum would hopefully mask and distract Mirage from most of Zoom-Zoom's movements across to the door as the smoke began to clear. If he was extremely lucky, perhaps it might even hit Mirage, wherever the frag he was, but the minibot doubted it would happen.
Freedom soon awaited. Zoom-Zoom was feeling extra generous and decided that it might be worth checking to see if he could quickly jam the lock to the storage room once he was out.
