The punch landed, alright; sudden, small impacts like that were something a holo had to be able to absorb, if only because humans were so slagging fond of that sudden sort of violent affection (case example: Miko and Jack). Rook even acknowledged the femme in question by rubbing his arm and giving her a mock-wounded look. "Ow. Is this how you treat everyone who takes you out for a spin?"
The holo leaned back comfortably on the seat as the Aero surged forward ahead, nose seeming to drop even closer to the road, speedometer climbing once again and leaving the speed limit far, far behind. Left to his own devices, Rook mapped out a route through his own, familiar byways, listening in for the local law patrols as he did. In little time they had merged into an old road that hugged a steep cliff on one side and vanished into a precipitous fall on the other, leaving a vast desert vista to distract the rare user.
"A bridge, a ground-bridge. Minor space-folding tech." The holo grimaced. "It's nothing so fancy as a space bridge. It connects two points within the planet through dimensional folding. If there's trouble, SOP is to call for one unless you're sure it's trouble you can handle quick and quiet." For all the mildness of Rook's tone, the undertone was one that assured the human that any trouble to be found would be handled exactly like that: quickly, quietly, and without a need for backup. "Mostly we use it for long-range supply runs. No sense running down the tank to go get more energon just to fill it. What's this 'holding out on you' mean? I can't be the first holo you've been introduced to."
