It is that time for another Newsletter, and honestly it is well overdue for an update. Below we have some new things listed, and some small updates on plot and what is happening on site. As always if there are any concerns or issues? Feel free to speak up!
ADMINISTRATION
Cybertronian Physiology Page
The Transformers fan base has a lot of different things people see as true and false when it comes to Cybertronian functions. Some individuals think all of them should have the ability to see in the dark for example, while others may not play this ability in their posts. Most of these fluctuations we respect, and will allow, players tipping their heads a bit and letting details skim past or not comment on them, to let the RP continue and allow everyone's different perspectives and headcanons without forcing everyone into the same mold. However some concepts are too far from the normal viewpoints of the mass majority, or are too game changing to be overlooked entirely.
Until now, we hadn't had a place that listed this, and unintentionally left players to trial by fire. We hope that this page will help newcomers to understand what this world is roleplayed as, and we hope it will clarify things for current members.
As stated before, this page isn't going to shoehorn everyone into some mold of 'You HAVE to RP your character with night vision or you're breaking the rules!' or other nitpicky crap no one honestly cares about! This is the LARGE issues like if Cybertronians can reproduce and duplicate themselves akin to a human's biology ((Spoiler Alert: They can't on this forum)).
This will be posted later on today, or maybe it is already up? Depends when you read this!
Typos and Inconsistencies
With the new year and events changing things around *coughNemesiscrashingcough* many of the information pages in the database are out of date or need to be tweaked. The Administration team is going to do its best to try to fix up these issues and some typos that may still linger about. This said, if you happen to find anything that is amiss or wrong? Please notify someone so we can fix it up!
Photos and Descriptions - Oh No
Zercon got told some Canon characters didn’t have descriptions for appearances in their profiles. Zercon found out they use a photo of the character instead. Zercon had a public freak-out about this, and screeched like a banshee. Zercon is a spazz, which we all know. Zercon wants everyone who has only a photo in their profiles to update it and add a text description to compliment the image despite it being canon from the show that this site is focused on. Zercon says this flows well into the next topic, which is-
Start The Year Fresh!
Another year is under our belts now, and that means another year of updates and changes to a character through interaction and growth. It is no surprise when someone makes a character that things can shift or change slightly as time goes and you grow accustomed to how the individual plays. The cruelness you had planned not adding up in actual conversations, or a new injury adding additional weaknesses that probably need to be mentioned. Let's use the month of January to get a clean slate on all our characters, and update them to current information! I know I need to add a stolen dagger to a certain Cop's profile ;D
As with any profile changes, be sure to notify Administration and seek approvals for anything larger or more substantial that may affect balance in active game play. Personality alterations and weakness updates so long as you don't OVERALL a kind individual into a cruel savage, or drastically change balance, needn't get the green stamp.
Because time can be scarce at the onset of the year, and a profile overhaul can be a substantial endeavor, you may use a profile update towards the Activity Checks. Just notify Zercon when you are done and it will be cataloged as a post at that time.
Activity
Speaking of Activity, since the reset, most players have been doing great with meeting the requirements for this forum, and I wanted to point out how happy it has made us to see. We want to encourage you all to keep it up into this new year, for the slate is clean, it is a brand new Excel document of activity, and we can get rollin' anew!
A quick tip of the hat however is due. So far for the entire duration of their short stays on this forum, Hazmat and Shale have not missed a single AC, as well as Steelstrike who has only one week of being a member under his tiny belt. Breakdown has been up to speed his entire existence as well, and is just four weeks or so shy of having an entire year of a perfect record. Ren and Zercon on all characters have not missed an AC for the entire year.
Congratulations everyone!
CURRENT EVENTS
Resource Struggle
Just a reminder that as of episode 2.5 all Autobots are probably going to be rather hungry unless they are stealing extra rations or are finding Energon on the field and not reporting it.
Cruor
The Nemesis has been downed, and it has brought up more questions than answers all things considered. Decepticons are scrambling and they are going to have to find shelter and a means to pick up the pieces.
Downturn/MECH
With the way Downturn has had a steady... well... downturn in interest and progress, it is being detoured into a small independent event that will not affect game play past its date as originally planned. Consider it a non issue and feel free to post after it with no complications that will come when it is progressed. No injuries to worry about here! Unless someone decides to stumble or crash into a telephone pole that is...
Bulletin Board
New things are added, including some stuff for our Decepticon brothers and sisters. Remember this board is a thing, you can host stuff on it, and can offer some wonderful plotting ideas for those that don't know where to start. Reach out to your friends and pick up your own adventure today! -bad infomercial music-
OVERALL
We can expect to see new things coming up on the horizon, including some returning NPCs.
