OOC- Hope this is good!!
--------
Week Two, Day Three
Only a cycle. Only a cycle had passed since Steelstrike had broken orbit in response to detecting a distress signal- one Decepticon in origin, that he had managed to trace back to a comm. center in Kaon. At first, he had debated the wisdom of investigating. After all, nothing good had been left on Cybertron. He hadn't even been back to the planet's surface- not after the Exodus, all those long vorns ago. He hadn't necessarily *wanted* to return. The war had ravaged all that was good about his home world. All that had been left was ruins, really, those left behind, left to scrounge and scavenge and fight over resources of a dead world.
Initially, he hadn't even *planned* to investigate the distress signal. If he broke atmosphere to land and investigate, he had nowhere near enough energy left in his tanks to guarantee that he would be able to return to space. Not to mention- if there were no medics down there, which he'd wager all his remaining datapads there weren't- he would be slagged. He hadn't had maintenance in *orns*, and to compound that with the fact that re-entry was difficult at the best of times, he would be lucky if he didn't break up into pieces.
And that would all be if it wasn't some kind of Autobot trap and he was shot down, which would promptly negate all of the above.
When he'd finally opted to trace the distress signal back to its point of origin, some joors later, two things had driven his decision. One was his vastly depleted energon store, and likewise nearly empty tanks. The other, though he would not admit even to himself, was the desire to meet another Cybertronian.
To be reunited with Vega, after all these long vorns...
He turned his helm to regard her now. Transforming back to root mode had been uncomfortable, but without servos one could not operate the comm. He only hoped someone was out there, and could hear them.
"Steelstrike to Decepticons. We are in need of assistance."
He sent another distress ping out with the message- the fourth since he'd found Vega.
