The ominous tone in the commander's response was noted but not all together effective. Vega couldn't care less what work she was put to do as long as it was work. Though perhaps it would be in her best interest to ask Starscream what exactly she should prepare herself for. Later. He was already chewing over his answer for the question she had actually posed to him. And judging by the sour expression on his face once she did his thoughts were just as...unenthusiastic as hers were. Honestly? The very concept of the truth made her furious - as difficult as that was to read from her.
She had spent what felt like a life time fighting tooth and nail to make it to the next day. The looming threat of death by energon deficiency followed her to recharge every night. Now she honestly felt so disappointed. Their forces were strong and far more capable than the Autobots - and certainly more so than the natives of this planet - but they were not being utilized. All because of some organics with heads too big. It made Vega disgusted and angry.
But that was neither here nor there.
It had been implemented and there was nothing she or anyone else except the leaders of the sides could do about it. Until either MECH wad dealt with or someone got too impatient for a fight they were leaving the hatchet burried. And even if she didn't personally agree her feelings were inconsequential. She would obey and keep her thoughts to herself, it was better that way. Starscream gave his own thoughts returning to a more professional demenor to do so. Then he focused the question at her.
"I believe you have put it best sir, unfortunate yet necessary. I hold no doubts about the strength of us as a whole myself, but what I think has little to do with it. I'm sure our leige has something resembling a strategy or grander idea behind this...but it is not my place to openly question or comment on such. I will simply continue as I have: follow orders and mind my own business."
It had gotten her this far, she saw no reason to deviate from this well trodden path she followed. Others she had seen were far more open of their distastes. Often those who did not hold important positions were promptly silenced. Vega never caused much fuss in her life back before the war and she wasn't about to start now. Not when their leader was prone to violence toward and even offlining those who angered him. She turnee back to their game studying the board for a moment to refresh her memory.
The timer finally reset as she moved her awaiting rook from his resting position at h8 to h6. She relinquished Starscream his turn. "Thank you for humoring me commander. But let us return to our game."
