Upon sitting down and actually getting a look at Raf, Miko was shocked at just how… well, bad he looked. She didn’t think he could get any paler, and yet here he was. He looked so tired, so… done. The fact he couldn’t even give her his usual smile spoke volumes, and she’d smile weakly at him in response.
She worried for him. Not just now, but always. She knew he was overly sensitive and took things hard, but seeing something like this? She couldn’t even imagine. If it were Bulk, she didn’t know what she’d do. This wasn’t supposed to happen, Autobots weren’t supposed to turn on one another like this. She had an urge to protect Raf as best she could, even though she wasn’t exactly sure what to do. This wasn’t exactly in any ‘how to be a really good friend’ guide! So all she could do was sit, and be here for him. To check he was okay, to really check he was okay and wasn’t just saying he was because he didn’t want people to worry.
The fact he managed to smile was good, though, and his words seemed genuine enough, even if they were filled with tiredness.
Her gaze followed his glasses as he removed them, and she’d frown, turning her attention to the two Cybertronian as Raf did. She wasn’t sure what was going on over there, and while normally she would’ve been all up in their business to be included, this wasn’t the time or place. It did seem whatever it was, was seemingly boring, however, as Bolo meandered his way back over, and she could only smile.
A smile that quickly faded as Raf continued, and she’d turn her attention back to him as he spoke quietly.
“I’m so sorry, Raf.” her voice was just as quiet, and she sounded unsure, almost as if she didn’t know quite what to say to make him feel better.
This was another of those things. They couldn’t talk to anyone about it, he couldn’t confide in his parents about how he really broke his glasses - how he almost died. Seeing something like that would stick with Raf for a long time, and probably have a lasting effect. Whatever happened though, Miko would be there for him as best she could.
“At least… At least Bumblebee is asleep now and will be okay, and I’m sure Ratchet will have Optimus fixed up in no time!” she was trying to sound confident, like she was so sure everything would be okay, but even she didn’t know that. Something must’ve happened to make Bumblebee attack Optimus and the others, to not notice Raf underfoot…
She just hoped they would be okay.
At seeing Raf’s shiver, she would scoot closer, easing one arm around his shoulders. While she lacked the words, she hoped she made up for it somewhat in the small gesture.
“Did you want to go home? I can ask Bulkhead to take you, you can ride in the front! Or did you want to, I dunno, watch a movie or something to take your mind off things? We could get Carbine to bring the TV in here?”
Whenever she’d seen a spooky movie, usually watching something more lighthearted would help take her mind off the scary stuff. Only, this wasn’t a movie- this was real life, and her friend had seen something horrible.
