Timeline:
Episode 2.5 | Week 1 | Day 3
It had taken Shockwave some time to get himself together, not for the fact that he had been unceremoniously hurled off the ship by a malfunctioning mute who decided to turn into a mother hen for the wrong split second, but because of need for some self repair.
Shockwave was not a lightweight mech by any means, and when he had landed there was no protecting all of his systems. Vital things could be saved, and proper landing skills had spared him most external damage. Rather, it was the shake to his internals and the sand that crept into the gaps of his frame that caused the trouble. His comms had been slightly damaged and required some time to go through repairs, checks, more repairs, and finalized checks to ensure he would be able to contact someone- anyone- across the Decepticon channel. That had be secondary, however. The sand? Clearing it out was a priority. It had invaded some rather important sections that he could not put at risk through transforming or else he'd be stuck in the middle of who knew where until everything was fixed properly again. Now, trying to clear out sand when you were practically removing one piece and having ten replace it was a difficult process, but establishing himself some shade had proved useful.
The Sahara may have been one giant sand box and a horrible idea of a joke from one mech to another where neither actually had a sense of humor, it was not an entirely barren place. It had landscapes, rock formations, and the scarce bit of plant life if one would look for it. Thankfully, Shockwave was a very patient mech and... something about having some silence for the first time in a long while definitely allowed him to think. By the time he had established a proper bit of shelter through a pile of rock formations and cleared out enough of the sand to make it safe to use his altmode, his communication link was fully functional and he brought himself to attempt to contact assistance.
Only it wasn't for Soundwave, the one that a mech would usually report to if they found themselves in a situation like this. No, the Nemesis was crashed and Soundwave was clearly compromised. Shockwave instead went for a particularly cunning feline who he figured was his next best option. Primus knew he wouldn't try for Starscream, that was for sure.
