“Codes would be good,” he said to Skystone. “Glad to see you’re familiar with standard procedures. That isn’t always the case with new arrivals. I recommend you send your codes to him, however.”
He pointed to Pyro. “Technically speaking, he’s the ranking Autobot here. I can verify them if needed. Once your codes are clear Pyro can take you straight back to the Autobot base here on Earth.”
Maximus gave a tactful pause. “Just a word of warning: I wouldn’t expect much from it for basic services beyond high security, a data library, ground bridge, and an excellent doctor. That said, if you’re used to roughing it off-world you should do fine. It’s a nice planet. Strange at first, organic, but not a bad place to end up.”
Skystone listened as Pyro spoke of his past posts. Interesting. He's clearly been around the block. Skystone herself had been to many different planets. However, she'd never made much contact with the natives on each. Organic life was interesting, of course, but not something she'd ever been an expert on. However, she herself was not unused to having to radically change her life and worldview. This was just another move for her.
"I've been on organism dominated planets...but none quite this colorful." She glanced around before giving a mild smile. "However, I have been on planets much stranger overall than this one. Got some stories there I'll never forget."
There was a small pang in her spark for those who either settled down on her journeys or didn't make it, but understood that that was simply how life went. Were she to let herself feel every loss, she wasn't sure she'd ever make it to Earth, or even off Cybertron.
As Pyro mentioned the wreckage of her pod, she nodded slightly. "Agreed. It's gonna take some backup. It doesn't have much in it, thought. It was pretty cramped."
She then turned to Fortress Maximus. She couldn't help a broader smile as he mentioned what the base was going to be like.
"Oh, trust me, that sounds better than some places I served in on Cybertron. Especially when I ran with Neutrals. If I got a roof over my head and enough energon to get by, I'm satisfied." She then took a moment to send her codes in. Once satisfied it was done, she turned to Pyro. "Alright, codes sent. Ready when you are to blow this joint."
((OOC: I'm ready to go ahead and wrap up this thread whenever you guys are. ))
"Thanks." Pyro said upon receiving the I.D. codes. The mech then reached for his head radio, contacting Omega Base. "Pyro to base. Sending I.D. codes for the new arrival and requesting assistance with pod dismantling, over." Once that was done, Pyro took a glance at Fortress Maximus. So, Max himself was out? The Autobot who was said to have walked out of Simanzi with a smile on his face? The Fort Max?! However, this shouldn't have been a that much of a surprise. Anyone who knew Fort Max would most likely know that he was the warden of Garrus-9 when it was overrun by the Decepticons, and Pyro was no exception. That place was turned into a goddamn slaughterhouse! No one would be able to live through something like that and not be traumatized! Especially with Overlord of all 'Cons at in charge! Fortress Maximus's behavior after G-9's liberation - according to reports Pyro had read, and this apparent revelation was proof enough of that assessment in Pyro's thoughts. The Wrecker let out a slight vent as he shaped back up, ready to finally get this extraction over with.
With the codes secured and the request for assistance sent, it seemed as if his job was complete. Pyro seemed to have the rest of the situation well in hand.
Maximus couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction about that. Most straightforward arrival he’d seen yet.
He half-turned towards the trees, one hand raised.
“It looks like you’re both set,” he said. “I’m off. Good luck on Earth, Skystone. I think you’ll do fine here. Pyro, I leave the matter of salvaging the pod to you. Give the ‘Bots my regards.”
Skystone nodded to Fortress Maximus. "Your assistance has been appreciated- and thank you for the luck...I may need it." She was itching to finally arrive at their base, to begin working towards the war effort. A need to continue the fight burned at her, making her feel somewhat impatient. I've been stagnant long enough. She turned to Pyro. "I'm ready to head on, I think. When we get to base, we can begin worryin' over who's going to try and reuse this scrap- hopefully what little of it is usable is also salvageable." She worked to keep her voice even. Over the course of the war, there were some who found her drive slightly intimidating. Skystone was aware of this, but it was hard to curb; when given a job, she worked her absolute hardest at it, and she'd had enough friends die that she certainly had good reason to be intense on the subject of the war. Regardless, she knew she needed to maintain a cool composure if working with the Autobots was to be as seamless as possible.
