As Javelin stared at Pyrotech, then lowered her gaze, she felt horribly exposed in some manner. Like someone was going to point a finger at her, for....something. She hadn’t done anything wrong, but she savagely hated getting blind sided like that, emotionally or mentally off balance. It was one the reasons she had developed an ability to read body language so well, read between the lines, pick up what wasn’t being said instead of what was. It was how she survived on all those planets she was dropped to. No friends, no close bonds with anyone – no one wanted to get too close to the newbie, to the scout, out there alone facing only Primus knows what. They were only going to get killed, so why bother? So she learned to survive the jungles of social interaction by observing. And while something like this took her by surprise, she felt oddly, personally, attacked.
It didn’t help when a loud, deep voice suddenly rang out, almost making her flinch.
Javelin stepped back a step as the large mech made his way towards Optimus. That was another survival adaptation she had learned. Keep a safe distance from the big ones. They might step on you accidentally, but you were still stepped on.
Remaining a slightly safer distance from the unknown Decepticon, Javelin gawked as he moved right up to Optimus and started casting doubt on him, insulting him.
Who was this guy? He was big, yes, but Optimus was still larger, and....well..Optimus didn’t look like he was in the mood to put up with too much at the moment. Just because someone had damage didn’t mean they were beaten.
Sometimes it just made them mean for a while.
Javelin looked quickly towards the ranking figure in the room, Starscream, to try and judge his reaction. To Javelin, it made Starscream look like he wasn’t in control of his own people, that they could just step forward and, in a manner, challenge Optimus like that. She wasn’t sure if Starscream would find it amusing to let the other be so brash, or if he’d try to bring him under control, but she waited to see his reaction.
At the same time, she was very aware of the hidden bolt heads she had hidden on her person. Even if Optimus would be furious at her for breaking the weapon order, she would not allow this massive ‘Con to actually start attacking her Prime without – if nothing else – a weak show of force.
