A smug hum of approval escaped Starscream as Bladewing lowered into a bow, and he was quiet as he watched the other Seeker curiously. While he had seen a few bows in his short time as Lord of the Decepticons, this one felt especially genuine - and it was refreshing to witness.
So far so good. Bladewing knew his place, and Starscream kept his gaze on him as he rose to his pedes. His own posture was starkly different to that of the other mech - with his wings were held high and proud, arms still folded almost pompously behind his back. There was a slight height difference between them, and even though the silver Seeker was looking down upon the other, there was none of the normal arrogance in his field even if his stance showed otherwise.
He’d bob his helm gently as Bladewing began speaking, expression neutral.
He’d been expecting many a reason for the other mech to defect, but- the words he was hearing were honestly quite surprising. Many Seekers had remained loyal to Starscream, standing beside him even despite the losses they had taken at Vos - not only losing many of their kind, but the city itself. He would forever hold a grudge in his Spark about that, but for self-preservation reasons, he knew better than to bring up his own… concerns in the matter.
But to hear him so openly call Megatron a traitor? With Soundwave here?
His expression fell some, almost aghast at what he was hearing - while Soundwave could not see his faceplate, the slight twitch of his wings told much. Did Bladewing not understand that the Spymaster would be recording every single word of what was being said? That everything he was saying now could - and probably would - be used against him should Megatron return? Even if he did not ease into the fold of the Decepticons once more after this conversation, he was making his life all the more dangerous for himself.
He allowed Bladewing to keep talking, but the more that was said, the more nervous he got. While he did not move his helm, his optics would dart to the side toward Soundwave a couple of times rather obviously, as if trying to indicate to the other Seeker that he is listening and recording.
There was a moment of silence once Bladewing was done talking, but it did not linger - a nervous chuckle breaking the quiet before he spoke up.
“Now now, Bladewing…” his arms would unloop to rest neatly at his sides.
“Let’s not be too abrasive in regards to the brilliant mind who kickstarted our liberation from the Caste system.”
He couldn’t believe he was saying such things. If Soundwave wasn’t lingering over his shoulder, the conversation would be going vastly different. He agreed with practically every word the other Seeker had said, and yet even with Megatron missing? Was too apprehensive to give his true thoughts - at least out loud.
One good thing came from Bladewing’s words, however - and that was how much he disliked Megatron. There had been no confirmation that their former Warlord had been truly lost, meaning that the chance of him one day returning was high - and Starscream, unfortunately, knew this well. While it would be deceptive to take Bladewing back into the Decepticons knowing the issues it may cause, it did mean that there would be at least one more loyal follower for their rightful Lord for when the time no doubt came to pick a side.
“Your opinion is noted - probably quite literally.” a nervous glance was given to Soundwave at that, before he turned back to Bladewing. “I will allow you this slight if only because I can only assume your processor is still coming to terms with this dustball of a planet.”
Trying to ease the blow some, trying to find reason for the outburst - one that Bladewing could hopefully use should his words be used against him in the future.
“As for me being in charge, well- I can only do my best to be the leader you believe me to be, and can confirm that under my lead the Decepticons have done nothing but thrive.” he smirked.
A step forward was taken then toward Bladewing and Knock Out, his attention and gaze still on the other Seeker, however.
“So tell me, Bladewing. Should we find you worthy in rejoining our ranks, what will you bring to the Decepticon cause?”
