He'd listened in silence to the Decepticon's words, and though the demands of War would have had it that two members of opposing Camps would always refer to each other in the negative, the Praxian had started to see that the other Cybertronian wasn't a Decepticon. He was another Cybertronian. Regardless of their opposing view points in the ongoing hostilities, the two had somehow managed even on this Planet of Mud and Grass far from their own home Planet a means to see themselves as members of the same Species. It hadn't hurt that the discussion had become enlightening, for both he'd been certain, but the War could have been on the other side of the Galaxy as far as he'd been concerned.
“I haven't any doubt that you could leave me in your contrails if you wanted to hit your afterburners, but I think both of us would miss the conversation,” he'd say.
The other Cybertronian had raised the question if they could have kept an Egalitarian Society on a Rebuilt Cybertron, causing Skirmisher to wonder if they could have kept it. Their Kind had experienced stagnation in a heavily stratified Society for millennia which had brought about the unease and the disillusionment that had led to the War. Had their Kind been capable of thinking outside of what Society had demanded to lead their own lives with hobbies, interests and dislikes? He hadn't known the answer to that, and he'd be a blind Turbofox to believe he'd been able to have even pretended to.
“Passions run high in both Camps, and I think we can both attest to that,” the V-22 Osprey said. “If we were to rebuild and revitalize Cybertron, I think it would be difficult -- to say the least -- for us to put aside old Grievances and to band together for a better Cybertron. The determination is there, but the ideals are as different as our chassis are,”
“I left Cybertron when it was still full of life. It was marred by open aggression, but it was still alive. I don't think I'd be able to recognize it even if it were parked directly in front of us. If Cybertron were revitalized, I think we'd have a difficult time calling it Home. We've been going at each other for too long,” Skirmisher said.
