till watchful and wary, Javelin nevertheless listened to Prowl as he spoke, paying attention to what he was saying about Bulkhead and Breakdown.
Her optics travelled around the space they were in, looking for any evidence it was still being use. While Prowl was using his processor to investigate a crime, Javelin was looking for signs they might be jumped or attacked.
Everything she was seeing, however, seemed to hint that the place was well and truly abandoned, at least right here and now. If Prowl was finding something, she had no clue what it could be.
“That makes no sense,” she repeated, taking a few more steps into the clearing, actually stepping past Prowl now. No longer just following, her own processor was trying to search out and find information, and her slight fear and strong unease of the police presence beside her was fading, “Why go after the one who is in better shape, more able to put up a fight? You always go after the weaker one first. Especially if...”
She paused, a sense of disquiet coming over her. She turned, looking back at Prowl.
“Especially if you know there won’t be any repercussions. Which makes it seem all the more likely they either felt the Decepticons wouldn’t come to Bulkhead’s rescue, or...they knew Megatron wouldn’t care.”
She felt ill. Would Megatron be so eager to win the war that he would turn to the hated “vermin” organics and allow his own people to be torn apart and studied?
His question caught her slightly off guard. Javelin cast another look around the area, then shook her head.
“Too abandoned, for too long. There’s only ghosts here now.”
