Ep. 3 | Week 3 - Day 1 | Sometime Mid-day/afternoon
Location: Blackridge Hold
Flux, Backwater & Bait
“Now, we just got here.”
Backwater stood in a large empty room, one she thought might be the Training room- having not really bothered to look at a map or ask for directions when she first entered Blackridge Hold. She’d been exploring since then instead, spending the day idly walking around, poking her head into various rooms, mapping out where and where not to go.
“We’ve been- here- for less then half a cycle.”
After some energon, the carrier and cassette duo had headed down to the lower levels of the Hold to continue their exploration, at which point Bait had wanted to poke around independently. Which was all well and good, Backwater deployed him so he could slither around the immediate area. It really was fine. The snake knew how to stay hidden and out from underfoot- that really wasn’t the problem.
“So How IN the FUCK are you ALREADY stuck?!”
The seacon’s cry echoed back to her in the cavernous room, arms waving wildly in exasperation. Bait, the puppy-faced bastard that he was, simply poked his snout a little further over his ledge and looked at her, glossy black optics unblinking.
“Looking cute won’t save you this time, dumbass. I can’t even reach you!” The sight really was adorable, but it didn’t change anything. No. Not at all. Nope.
Somehow, in the five minutes he'd been gone, the cassette snake had managed to wedge himself in a little cranny far up the room’s rock wall, far, far out of Backwater’s reach. How in the pits and why, do you keep doing this you overgrown wormspawn.
He simply crooked his head a little to the side, which made Backwater deflate with a long exasperated vent and narrowed optics behind her visor. She put a hand to her hip and looked around instead, casting a careful optic around the massive room for Something, Anything, that she could use to boast herself up and snag her wayward cassette from his princess-like perch.
She knew Bait would get himself into this sort of situation sooner or later, but she should’ve known it would be sooner. Short of climbing the wall like a giant Quael, her options were limited. Backwater didn’t want to leave her cassette, especially now and here, but it seemed like she would have to.
“I hope you know this means no energon goodies for you.”
Bait stared at her. She stared back.
“Sly bastard.” She muttered, spinning on a heel with a huff and started for the exit, jabbing a finger over her shoulder pointedly. “Stay there and think about what you've done.”
Not like he would be going anywhere. Nor would he be learning anything either. That was just wishful thinking.
