[Week 2: Day 6]
[Location: Earth: North American Continent: United States of America: Nevada: Jasper: Omega Outpost: Skirmisher's Quarters]
Having programmed a timer on the recharge rack for the recharge cycle to run for longer than it took for the Back Up Cycle to have run its course, Skirmisher laid back on the Recharge Rack. A panel along his left side and beneath his left arm slid open revealing a cavity where he'd been able to have stored the Ion Magnum and previously a Standard Issued Sidearm, but the cavity served another purpose and one geared primarily for a certain Procedure. Transferring a Data Slug to his left hand, he'd bent the elbow and following a few deft gestures with the servos he'd managed to inject the Data Slug into a matching port within the cavity. One of two such ports had been designed farther back in the cavity, and though Skirmisher hadn't minded when other Enforcers or at least the Specialized Technicians in his Precinct had overseen the Procedure he hadn't allowed others to have even known about the Port's existence or the existence of an Auxiliary Port located beneath his helm. Withdrawing his hand, the panel slid seamlessly back into place only a klik before the timer kicked in activating the Recharge Cycle. The Procedure began backing up the data accumulated by Skirmisher's own processes, from written RAM to other such functions, and to make the time pass that much faster the Enforcer dimmed his Visor in a gesture similar to a human closing their eyes. He'd learned early on it had been better to have been Recharging while undergoing that particular Procedure.

The hatch to his quarters had been sealed from the inside, with the locking mechanism having been personally seen to and for added measure he had bolted the hatch with physical bars of steel. He'd seen to the installation of those mechanisms after his transfer to the Outpost more out how he hadn't entirely trusted the others yet, though that had changed since then. He'd developed a few friendships, but there were others in the Garrison he hadn't either wanted to have met or those that hadn't proved they could be trusted. He hadn't actually been paranoid or thought of himself as such, but there were certain procedures -- including rather intimate ones -- where if some might have called it paranoia would have been in order. The Procedure of having backing up copies of himself ranging from simple data to more complex forms hadn't been alien to him or even new, as he'd undergone the Procedure many times to where it had become routine. The Enforcers in Praxis had been instructed in how to carry out the Procedure and before the War where those Back-Ups had been stored. He hadn't had those Mainframes or even the Archives here on Earth, but he'd managed to have acquired multiple Data Slugs and the Data PaDDs at least. Though, he'd decided the Data PaDDs wouldn't have held sufficient enough storage space for it and there had been the little issue with how the PaDDs hadn't been his to start with.
