When the silence stretched, she felt something strangely unsettled in her gut, like fluttering butterflies. Like nervousness. She kept her pose relaxed, her eyes focused on the work that Sideswipe seemed so engrossed in; attempted to fight that creeping thought in the back of her mind that perhaps she might have overstepped a boundary.
Cat had already been chewing her lip, one of her nervous ticks, when Sideswipe spoke, coaxing her attention to the downcast glow of his optics, to the back of his hand.
'Eventually.', she thought. Eventually.
She sat quietly in response for a moment, hands in her lap, contemplating what the next boundary might be and how far she would get herself over that line. Acting by feelings alone, though it's often what she did, wasn't always the best call, but she went with it anyway.
At least in part.
What she wanted to do was tackle hug his shiny red self to the ground, but that shiny red self was also about as tall as some houses. That. And she wasn't sure how he would react to having his face hugged.
So she settled for a simple gesture. Moved her hands from her lap to rest on the cool metal beneath them. Unsure if he'd be able to feel it, but hoping he would because it had the flexibility to say everything she had no idea how to. "Yeah." She said, a small smile tugging at the ends of her lips if he were to turn her way.
A short pause.
"Until then," She continued (something warm always followed with something light with her), "We can make Italian the second language of the Neutral base, huh?"
