Name: Velocity
Age (or human equivalent): 27 for a human equivalent.
Gender (or human equivalent): Femme
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobot
Occupation/Specialization: Public Relations Specialist for High Ranking Senator (back on Cybertron) also Personal Administration Specialist.
Appearance/Altmode: This femme's alt mode just happens to be a Dodge Viper SRT10 1:33 ACR. Velocity isn't exactly intimidating when it comes to her size, however she is not a small mech either. Unlike the majority of femmes Velocity is rather tall, she is near to Optimus Prime's shoulder and only off by a few inches. Though her form does have its curves, which are a bit more exaggerated in the midsection, she is not a slim bot and seems to be mostly legs. In fact she has thicker legs, arms and waist than one would expect for not being a warrior. As for color she is mostly a shiny black shade with an equally shiny red undermesh. Red also shows up in various places over her form, including her hands, making it obvious what color she seems to have an affection for. Meanwhile her optics are a bright Cyan shade. Velocity's Autobot insignia is on her upper right thigh plate, on the outside. She has several weapons on her but seems to favor one over most. Two thigh sheaths with short sword energon blades housed in them. She also has a sniper rifle and a machine gun that fires fast but smaller caliber bullets to keep her from being too heavy.
History: Velocity was sparked as part of the Upper Caste system and had it fairly easy for awhile. She was taught blind loyalty to the 'cause', to your superiors and to Ideals. This was how she existed in her job and social life (what little she had) for a very long time. At one point she met a mech, Nitro. He was everything she shouldn't have wanted and she was so naïve that she fell for his tricks and him. She had no clue of all the other things he was doing behind her back while she was working hard and gaining quite the name for herself. In fact, she never found out until they began to talk Bonding and someone let it slip that they had seen the mech with many other femmes. Velocity confronted him, beat him within an inch of his life, and moved on as best she could. It has always haunted her however, and she has been very touchy about being close to anyone since.
Most of her working life was comprised of being on the heels of a high powered Senator involved with the southern provinces; Kaon, The Badlands, Vos, and Tarn. A dedicated worker, she turned a willfully blind optic to the actual content of her work: helping to spin doctor and shine a positive light on the myriad atrocities being enacted upon the lower castes. How the medical companies basically forced the lower castes into becoming test subjects for credits, the riots involving the miners, and the underground gladiatorial games, of which the Senator was a major fundee. It was Vel's responsibility to handle these illegal gains, funneling them through several shell companies disguised as off-world trade corps. and charities. She kept telling herself that she was doing what was right for the greater good, to maintain the illusion of peace.
Then there was the war, and it was vicious and fast, destroying her entire world and leaving the meticulous femme adrift in the aftermath. Until she joined the Autobots. There she put her quick, logical mind and vast administrative skills to good use, rapidly making herself indispensable to the command structure. Velocity was no longer lost and useless, the unit she was assigned to was a good one, and this pleased her. Then they got a pair of transfers: a set of twins named Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. A pair of bots she'd seen several times fighting in the pits, and her curiosity was piqued. Were they really as bloodthirsty and mindless as they seemed? Bloodthirsty yes, mindless...not so much. She and Sideswipe became fast friends, eventually even becoming friends with Sunstreaker.
When their Commanding Officer insisted that they leave them behind enemy lines she was angry enough to disobey orders and attempt an explanation. All that she managed to get out was “sorry†before being locked down. That was the first time she ever questioned those in authority and was promptly shot down and told to mind her place. It wasn't long after that before she too was betrayed, or that was how she felt. Taking a blow to the head from a well placed explosion she fell, asking silently for help with an upraised hand she saw Jettison, the CO, pull back the rest of the Unit, shoot her a look and disappear. She went offline shortly after that.
The rest of the time was a blur to her. On-lining in fits and spurts, she has little clear recollection of what happened since the explosion. Reality eventually snapped back into place, and Velocity found herself repaired and floating in space, her only point of orientation a dimly pulsing beacon carrying the Prime's energy signature.
Personality: Velocity is a rather happy femme. Not that she is sparkles and rainbows all the time, but she is definitely the type to see the positive even when she is surrounded by negative and it takes a lot to get her down. Often seen smiling, or smirking depending, Vel is always one for laughter and good humor. Don't let her charisma and friendly nature fool you though, behind those optics lies a cunning mind that enjoys just a bit of other peoples' misery and elaborate pranks. Thankfully she is a workaholic so that the mischief she is so fond of getting herself into rarely ends up happening. It is when she doesn't have her self shoved into some type of work that the trouble making bug gets hold of her and everyone better watch out! Velocity likes to keep herself entertained even if that means at other peoples expense at times, though none of her pranks are detrimental.
Besides being a prankster and a workaholic Vel is incredibly loyal. Her loyalty used to never be questioned, she would follow orders without even asking once let alone twice. Now however, due to several instances in her past, her loyalty is to the mech first and the Ideal maybe not at all. Now everyone has to earn her loyalty, but once you have it ,she would do anything for you. Even at personal risk to herself. There is also the not so little fact of her vanity. Velocity knows she is a good looking femme and enjoys staying in tip top condition. She was made to be appealing and get attention, it was what helped her be so convincing with her job.
Likes: Intelligent Conversation and Witty Banter, Flirting, Snarkfests, High Speeds, Working and Keeping Busy, Making Friends, Pranking, Dub-Step Music, Herself.
Dislikes: Egocentric Mechs, Being Idle, Discordant Music, Flying, Paint Scratches
Strengths:
Loyalty- Velocity can be loyal to the point of blindness. Once you have earned this from her she will literally do anything for you even if it is not in her best health or interest.
Quick Thinking- This femme is fast in the art of thinking on her feet, or wheels. Always having to be more then just a step ahead of everyone around her in her line of work she has gotten rather good at predicting and processing several possible outcomes from one action.
Friendly and Charming- Having worked in a position where personality, real or faked, was everything along with looks Vel has become quite the friendly type. She will often say hello, lean in when speaking to someone and laughter seems to come easily to her.
Damage Taker- Due to her bulkier build Velocity can take a good deal of damage before she goes down or even staggers.
Speed- Velocity is a very speedy mech and relies on it. She loves to zip in and out of battles hitting the opposition and causing them to become disoriented, letting others finish them off.
Weaknesses:
Touching- Due to something from her past Velocity has a problem with anyone touching her, or being just close enough that they might as well be. It doesn't always show itself but once in awhile she will jerk, jump away or outright deck the mech in her personal space. Then, depending on how much she likes them she will either apologize calmly or fret and freak out over causing them possible harm.
Ego- She has a tendency to think she can do more than she actually can. This gets her into dangerous situations fairly often.
Trust- Because of the many times she has been betrayed in her past she is very slow to trust anyone. This does not stop her from being friendly but do not mistake it for anything else but that.
Low Firepower- In a battle do not expect her to be bringing out the heavy caliber weapons. She may be a thicker femme with a bit of bulk but she isn't big on the weapons. She prefers her speed and her fists when not having her short swords in hand.
Groups- Vel used to be great with them, but now not so much. Her lack of contact with anyone or anything for so long has made her a bit shy and jumpy when in a group and she has a tendency to high tail it out of there as soon as she can.
Damage- Though she is a bit of a damage taker she cannot take as much as some of the hardier bots around. As such she tends to get hurt a lot more when in one on one battles because she believes she can take more than her frame can obviously handle.
Special skills: When it comes to organization and keeping things in line Velocity has it down to an art. She has been keeping track of everything in her work and life since she was young and is a bit of a stickler about such things. There is also the way she defuses stressful situations, it was one of her specialties. Politics, though she may not be as big on them as she once was, is as much a part of her as her own spark.
Extra Info: Velocity was very close to the twins during their time together and believes they are dead now thanks to Jettison. She has little faith in authority figures but isn't all 'screw them', in fact she desperately wants her faith restored in something. She has been wandering around in space for a long time and though she is a friendly and outgoing femme she will have some trouble with larger groups for awhile until she gets used to them again.
Sample RP (only for first accepted characters):
It had been going on for awhile now, space. Seemingly endless with little bits of what could be considered life here and there. The Cybertronian femme wasn't paying a lot of attention to the planets she passed. Her sensor arrays would scan over it and she would be able to sense if it had anything alive on it but after so much time drifting out in the vastness that was space, looking for something specific, the lives she found did not interest her. Velocity wondered if it was possible to slip into a depression just from sheer lack of contact from others of her kind. “I am going to just run out of Energon and go offline and forever become a piece of junk traveling through space like everything else. I won't ponder what I have done to deserve this, I already did that ages ago and I know.†Talking to herself may have come off as crazy which was fine because she probably was by now.
Zoning out was the norm and after her conversation out loud she did it once more. Not caring about time she had no idea how long she drifted once again before something set her off. There was a familiar feeling, a tingling sensation in her neural net. At first she paid it no mind, the likelihood that she was near anything or anywhere that would be even remotely familiar was so slim that the hope she usually had was rather quashed. Though the more she drifted the sharper the sensation was until there was no chance she could ignore it any longer. This was definitely something she recognized and it was calling to her, not specifically but that was close enough for her. She followed this call knowing to whom it would lead to just not where. Eventually there was a planet, rather blue and white and lively seeming, which was nothing to ponder on considering it wasn't the first one like it she had seen. Yet, there was a ship, an incredibly large ship that was thankfully quite a bit away. The Autobot recognized it right away as The Nemesis, the ship that carried the Decepticons. Filled with both hope and dread all at once the femme aimed herself toward this brightly colored planet. She should have known that if the Prime was here so should the others be. Though honestly Velocity would be happy to run into any Cybertronian at all, even if it meant trouble for her own self.
Each planets gravitational pull was different from the next and this one was rather strong so it took her a moment to adjust her speed. Velocity was calm as she was landing, not thinking anything about the ground she was about to tear to shreds. The sound was deafening and she left a streak of scorched and torn up ground in her wake. Taking a moment to make sure she wasn't stuck she transformed out of her comet like appearance for space travel and into her protoform. It wouldn't be safe here, or anywhere with The Nemesis up there. She had to think fast and move on. Cautiously she walked, rather curious but too busy to ponder the little things around her. Spying some strange vehicle she scanned it and transformed into what was a delivery truck before she drove off. Everything was so small and odd, and what were those things walking around? So many questions she hoped to have answered later on.
It took her a small amount of time to find a busier area with vehicles more up to her speed. Oh, there is a lovely number, perfect coloring and shape oh my I like that one. It just so happened to be a Dodge Viper, surrounded by other nice cars it was the one she liked the most. Scanning it she changed not too far off and zoomed away, her vanity would never have allowed her to remain in that squat and bulky form, besides it was far too slow for her. Now Velocity was ready to try and find some of her own kind fairly soon, all she had to do was follow that energy signature. Having changed forms twice and being a good distance from where she landed she was pretty sure no one would have been able to follow her. Then again she was definitely not an expert on those things.
