Name: League
Age (or human equivalent): Late 30s
Gender (or human equivalent): Male/Mech
Species: Cybertronian
Faction: Autobots
Occupation/Specialization: Miner, aquatic expert and base sitter
Appearance/Altmode: League transforms into an SSK-TYPE-290 class submarine, which is small for a sub but still quite large. The sub itself is a navy blue in color, very dark, almost gunmetal. This caries over to his robot mode which is largely navy blue with a few metallic grey highlights. He has a very athletic build, broad shoulders, long legs and arms, each limb rather thick with robotic muscle. League is very tall as one might imagine, beating out Bulkhead as the largest member of the Autobots but a couple feet. He has a flat face mask that covers his mouth, above that are two light blue optics. On the two of his head are two fin like structures that are swept back and curve down off the back of his head.
History: League is a miner at spark and that was just what he was created to do. But due to the ever growing need for resources he took up claim on a neighboring planet to Cybertron which would have less competition for the best digging spots. The trouble was that everyone and their motherboard were out to steal what they could to churn a fast credit. League survived these hard times by being distrusting and of course mastering an element that few bots ever thought about, the water. Things were kicked into overdrive when the war started, though League sided with the Autobots he continued to mine, only now he had a purpose beyond just buying a few gulps of energon. But things just got worse on the little mining world as both factions fought each other, some for greed and the others in desperation, the entire world was a box of TNT and someone had dropped a match. Soon it didn't matter who you were or what you stood for, you were just trying to stay one step ahead of the other guy who would blow you to scrap as soon as look at you.
League managed to keep his head on his shoulders long enough to buy transport off that blasted rock and back to Cybertron, where you could at least trust your own people not to shoot you, for the most part anyway. Here the miner switched jobs, using some of his remaining credits to get his powerful build into something more battle worthy. Once his overhaul was complete, League become a powerful front line warrior, taking on any Decepticon that came his way and holding the line for the smaller Autobots. He fought for every inch he was told to take and proved himself in a rather short time as he continued to train himself to become even more killed at combat.
He was part of the Autobots who were left behind on Cybertron when Prime and a select few were set for Earth. League followed not too long after that, crashing down, of course, in the ocean near a human naval base. He was quite taken with the odd machines called submarines and instantly took one as his alt mode. Since then he joined back up with the Autobots and has found that there is not too much need for his slow aft and instead he tends to just sit around the base and keep an optic on it while everyone else goes out to play hero.
Personality: League is a bit of an odd case, due to his countless years on his own the bot has a rather stark distrust of anyone he has just met. He is rather hard to get along with as in his past he had to deal with both Autobots and Decepticons trying to steal from him or cheat him. But in spite of all this he is a stout defender of the Autobot morals and their way of life. It might take a good while for him to warm up to someone, but once he does it is quite hard to find a more loyal friend. League is often mistaken for being older then he really is, acting grumpy and complaining about processor-dead youths, which make him seem more like an old timer then a mech in his prime. One of his most defining features is a great dislike of flying robots, as he has taken no end of verbal attacks because of his odd choice of alt which is only useful in the water, a stark limitation to most. It doesn't help that he has trouble fighting fliers on the battle field, as most of his weapons are close range or based for taking out large groups of land troops. This further antagonizes him, at times making him quite hostile to fliers even on his own team. Due to his restrictive alt mode, League ends up staying at the base more often then not, unable to go head to head against the Decepticons like he used to do back in the war. This irks the mech to no end, but he accepts his role as a guard, knowing that they are of course right, he would only slow the rest of the Autobots down.
Likes:
-Downtime.
-Mining for energon and other minerals.
-Hand to hand combat.
-Getting out of the base now and again.
Dislikes:
-Being cooped up in the base.
-Clay, it gets in the way of mining.
-Jets, planes, copters, fliers of any and all sorts.
-Decepticons, more then half of the slaggers can fly!
Strengths/Weapons:
-League's main focus seems to be on staying in one spot and holding the area, at least this is how he acts during combat and all the mods and weapons on him act to boost this tactic. He has some insanely thick armor that let him take several high powers shots and keep on diving into battle. He weighs several tons and knows how to use each and every pound of it, either bracing himself to make a near immoveable obstacle or using his greater weight to knock other bots over. He is mainly a close combat mech, but only a fool would go about combat with at least some ranged fire power. His most powerful weapons are a pair of anchor shaped flails attached to a very long chain that rests in his wrists. These can be used to whip out and crush Decepticons or even hook them and yank them closer so he can overwhelm them. The flails serve another purpose though, the chains wrap around each other with the two anchors slamming together at the end, interlocking. Then the chains snap off at the base, going stiff and ridged as they fuse, acting like a single stiff rod while the two anchors on the ends flip out and length the two outward facing spikes until they resemble a massive pick-axe. This is his favorite weapon, with good reach and can make full use of his great strength. While perhaps not the sharpest thing out there, he wields it with skill and can be a challenge to take down when he has it out. To compliment all this close range danger, he has two torpedo hatches in his shoulders. On land they can lock on and fire normal missiles, however in the water they live up to their true destructive power, morphing into little shark looking drones that home in on Decepticons and rip into their metal before exploding with great force. As one can imagine League is supreme in his element, two screw shaped propellers on his upper back let him move through the water with shocking speed and grace. On land these same screws can be used to give him a great boost to his jumps, letting him cover several meters in a sudden burst or kick off the battle with a crazed leap right at his foes. In fact one of his favored tactics is to boost into the air and then transform into sub-mode, letting the natural curved shape of his alt act like a massive bullet and full towards the Decepticon of his choice. His armor normally holds up quite well to this and it makes for a truly devastating opening attack.
Weaknesses:
-As one can imagine League isn't at his best on land, he is slow, plodding and unable to hide himself if humans are around. His propellers can only hold up through two boost-jumps before overheating, he tends to use one to get him into trouble and the second to get the heck out. But afterwards he has to resort to his rather slow land speed. League's missiles can't home in on land, which makes them rather bad defense to fliers, they can run circles around him and bombard the poor mech until his heavy armor means slag.
Special skills: League was built as a miner, he knows the rock and soil better then most beings alive, though he is heavily specialized in under water mining and tends to favor it over mining on land. He knows just how to crack a fault line and what explosive will do the job without causing a disaster, he is quite skilled with balancing said explosives, as it pertains directly to his old job of fracturing rock with a couple of demo charges and on the fly he can apply these skills when asked to by his fellow Autobots. He doesn't have much a head for land or air combat, but he is a very fine naval strategist, pity he never get's to show it off though. League weighs quite a bit and knows just how to use it, he has an almost sumo-esk style in turning his raw tonnage into a weapon, or even turning the weight of his foes against them, while by no means the best at hand to hand, he is quite skilled at it.
Extra Info:
His motto- "Just because I can't do fancy slag like 'run real fast' it doesn't mean your safe."
Theme Song: Big Bad John(League) - I imagine League will meet a very similar fate one of these days.
