Barricade was no longer covered in mud, but not completely not-covered-in-mud because at the time he hit the washracks the power to those non-essential systems was cut because something in the damaged engine core hiccupped and the Nemesis, again, nearly plummeted out of the sky. Barricade – and everyone else on the crew at this point – was so far beyond the point of caring that nearly falling out of the sky was just part and parcel with being on board now.
He’d meant to go directly to the bridge, but ended up detouring to the sub-levels to help Steve and the other tech-mechanoids (the ones who weren’t clogging up medical with dire injuries) jerry-rig another set of failsafes. Ultimately they ended up emptying what few drop and cargo shuttles they had for fuel and the Nemesis was still running on fumes. (“At this rate,” said Steve, his glare evident even through the visor, “they’re going to start bleeding us for fuel.” Barricade, pointedly, didn’t refute him.)
He made it to the bridge with Reflector perched on his shoulder, giant camera head wobbling in a worried manner that Barricade supposed he was never going to be rid of. Soundwave was, as he’d suspected, at the main control hub on the bridge – carefully controlling the air-bourne moving disaster that was the Decepticon flagship. A crackle on the main comm: Starscream’s voice and a burst of CAG code-talk, relaying position, then quiet again. Whatever he’d said (Barricade didn’t follow Seeker code-speak) Soundwave adjusting their speed incrementally – Barricade could feel it in the vibration of the ship, the engines struggling.
“I need Laserbeak,” he said without preamble (Megatron had already relayed these orders; that was preamble enough). “And a groundbridge. Germany. Or as close as the groundbridge can get me.” He held up a data slug. “This is yours – you were right about the Department of Agriculture. The money’s not going where they say.”
[[OOC: Some background - Soundwave has been only casually looking for leads on the exact military operations/locations during his time on earth. Since the attack on the Nemesis, he gave Barricade a few leads that need to be followed up in the field and he's just gotten back from following those leads. This thread takes place directly after 'Drip'.]]
