Barricade was substantially smaller than a lot of the South Kaon mechs. He got flak. Whatever. He also had a tendency to tear knee rotors out of smart-mechs who got it in their head short jokes or kicking him around was a good idea. His public claim to fame was two things: His seeming precognition to danger (the immunity of the well informed) and his brutality on the streets. No mech ran a faster getaway while dealing damage. It was a unique design and useful. Barricade was useful. He had allies. For all that he tended to get his allies to turn on each other, Barricade himself had allies forged of necessity and he’d since made himself necessary to the inner workings of more than one criminal enterprise and he was looking to make himself necessary to at least one more.
Well, not a criminal enterprise exactly. Either way, gladiators had protective plating on their knee rotors so Barricade was forced to weather it when a particularly massive gaurd grabbed him by his wheel mounts and hauled him down the narrow corridor. He kept barking things like ‘How did you get in here?’ and ‘You’re not allowed!’ and ‘You’re about to regret breaking in here, kid!’ none of which made a great impression upon the trained infiltration unit, Barricade. He already had the sub-level complex memorized. If things went south he would split and be gone out faster than a sonic cannon could scrap him… of course that was not Plan A.
“Megaatronus!” His blockheaded captor jerked Barricade around, shoving him out front and just like that the enforcer found himself face to face with his objective. He was also much larger up close than he was from the arena stands. He didn’t seem enthused about the interruption. “I found this mech,” continued the guard. “He was wandering around in the hallways. I commed Roadblock. He didn’t let him through he snuck in.”
“‘Snuck’ is a complimentary term,” drawled Barricade. “It was more a matter of …strolling right in.”
“Little glitch–!”
“I have information. I didn’t see the point in playing around with the doorman to your secret club house.” Barricade jerked his wheel mount free of the other mech, EMF taking up twice as much room as his frame was politely permitted really. He growled. “I’m not feeding intell through unreliable channels. Get off me.”
