"Get The Stick."
The surf.
It sounded almost exactly the same as the recording; soothing, calm, rhythmic. She crouched quietly and listened as small waves rose and fell into the beach below this natural formed cliff, shielded with vegetation almost all the way up to its edge. Watched reflected rays from the moon outline each crest and let herself peer past the horizon lock where she could feel lost. A slight mist blown in from the ocean tingling her facial plating. Flying without being up in the air.
Behind her she could hear other sounds that matched the recordings, these made from living things. Frogs. Insects. Some avian species who called only when this side of their planet was turned away from their sun. Most of them they had already explored and seen up close for themselves, matching the live imagery with the lined photographs recorded on the disc. And almost thankfully they realized, what they had discovered on this small island, only one out of a chain of them, wasn't the half of it.
And that wasn't even including what seemed to be this planet's dominant species. Despite having seen several images of the finer points of their anatomy, reproductive structures, cohort bonds and age patterns, they hadn't seen a single one up close. Could detect the colonies on this island, yes, even found a road system that appeared to be a connection between two of said colonies, but no humans. They had both elected, at first, to remain hidden. From everyone. Until they knew more, felt a little less blind.
But a few things, certain things were becoming more difficult to ignore. A lack of any energon vein discoveries in their area, for one. Not unsurprising. At first they had only a sparkling's hope for it, because that one hope was all they had to grasp. But after sighting remnants, debris floating freely with distinct Cybertronian marks, of something very… very large, that hope had been given a concrete foundation. Their race, whatever faction, had been, or still were, here. And judging by the state of those remnants there had been conflict. 'We don't know the dominant force here yet.' But their chances of finding supplies, who they came from aside, had grown considerably.
She flexed her wings. It wouldn't be long before they could move out of this island, use the storm formations moving in for cover, and expand.
::I found dolphins.:: One of the other images. A school of them dancing playfully out in the deeper portions. But nothing relevant. She stood slowly, the canopy of trees, most of it, well over her helm, and began to pick her way through towards Shearwind, pausing now and again to observe a frog or insect that would patiently stay still until she lost interest.
(( Figured might be interesting to tie in the giant floating pieces out in space from the first few episodes-- Tag to Sideswipe or Shearwind! ))
