((OOC: other Cons free to be present in the room and overhear/observe conversation... but interfereing is probably not a wise idea.))
Other, less enlightened mechanisms who’d perhaps taken in too much of earth culture (such as an alarming number of the Eradicons) would have had some less complimentary things to say about Megatron’s latest attack plan. ‘Batshit’ and ‘what the fuck’ would have come to mind (and had among the drone population), but Shockwave was a touch too logical for colloquialism and settled for ‘unwise’ on the subject of his master’s unusual tactics. The warlord’s push for immediate attack lacked Megatron’s usual cunning and exhibited, instead, the thought processes of a mech on a time line or with some tactically critical objective on the verge of loss.
Baseline: he was acting like time was running out for some reason and Megatron had never been prone to rush his advantage. Within a usual margin for era there was a 75% probability on any assault with a 60% probability of success (and provided there was not an emotional variable in play) Megatron will take the extra time to ensure victory is tactically assured. Therefore, Megatron’s current behavior was a statistical anomaly and Shockwave’s duty and function was to investigate anomalies. Preferably before the warlord threw Steve or Manfred through a port window or tried to choke Commander Starscream into stasis.
All of which were at a strong 45% probability given correct environmental setting.
Shockwave entered the command deck after leaving Fairwinds to continue her calibrations and with orders to accelerate her efforts in his absence. The mildly puzzled battle tank crossed the bridge, aware of the various navigation drones (the ones sentient enough to feel fear) cowering at their stations. Megatron’s murderously impatient EM field clogged every airwave with ill intent. Hmm. 83.546% chance of confrontational exchange to follow.
“Lord Megatron,” said Shockwave, tonal glyphs indicating intent to open a dialogue. “There is a tactical error in the current posited timeline for attack. Fairwinds is not yet ready to pilot the warship. Furthermore, this deviation from the original plan eliminates the possibility of Barricade returning in time to pilot the ship. He has a ranking in the 99th percentile for combat piloting and is the only one trained in the functionality of the ship. What is the tactical advantage of an accelerated attack?”
