(OOC: This takes place AFTER the events of "Encounter In The Desert." Things will be edited in retroactively as the events unfold in EitD.)
Serotype had a rough night. After the incident involving her fight with Barricade and then being chased off by Scatterdust... it hurt. It hurt so bad. She wished that Scatterdust could truly see why she had left the Decepticons. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't recharge. Not without this incident still buzzing around her mind. It was her fault. She had allowed herself to get too involved and now she just hurt.
Serotype had since went in to another canyon and followed along the walls. There were plenty of places to hide within this canyon. If she had to, she could duck out of the way. She had since covered her body in dust to keep the glare of the sun from reflecting off her mesh and giving away her location from the air. She hadn't even bothered to wash off anything from the night before either. Probably just as well.
Keep moving, Serotype reminded herself, If you keep moving, eventually, you'll forget the pain.
Velocity was known for 'traveling'. This wasn't against any orders or protocol, she had talked to Prime about it at length. There were reasons for what she did and they were pretty good ones. As a bonus anything she saw that seemed suspicious or even interesting was reported back if she was still on Earth at the time anyway. The things she found elsewhere were still reported just not as urgently.
Right now she was in some desert, it had a name but she couldn't remember it. There had been a flurry of activity not too long ago in this area and there might be a chance that what she was looking for was here. Though she had been looking for this particular thing for awhile now with no luck she didn't give up hope. It wasn't a part of this femme's make-up to be down or depressed and she usually pulled through everything that might stall others.
Though she wasn't the best at subterfuge and being stealthy, none of that mattered when she came across the struggle below her in a canyon. Laying down she watched it all with that insatiable curiosity and eager interest. Cons were fighting with each other, dissent in the ranks. This was something she would definitely have to report to Prime, later. She had watched the struggle become a tussle and a full on fight and not moved a single inch. With that many Decepticons the last thing she wanted to do was be noticed. It wasn't until it seemed to break up in some way that she picked the target and followed them.
Her optics kept sight on the individual even as they covered themselves up. It was a good tactic but Velocity already had them in her sights so it didn't work completely, not on her anyway. Sliding down the canyon side was noisy but she did it anyway, she wanted to see just what was going on and didn't really plan on getting to close to the other one. Fight or not the other bot in question was still a Decepticon and therefore seemingly her enemy. Even if at one point Vel herself sided with them.
Serotype paused and looked over her shoulders for the source of the sound. She could see someone moving. Quickly, she powered on her VTOLs and swept her foot along the sand in a graceful arch kicking up a large plume of sand. Using her momentum and the plume as a smoke screen, she lept away and hid herself in one of the canyon's crevices keeping entirely out of sight.. With any luck, perhaps this mystery individual may investigate the area where Serotype once occupied. She could clearly see that spot from where she was hidden.
The obstruction in sight was a slight annoyance to Velocity. Her optics zoomed in and out like she was using her sniper rifle to try and make sense of it but at least it was only a sight thing. Everything else was of course now on high alert. Going where she was going and poking around in things she probably shouldn't was a normal past time for Vel and she had, after some time, learned a few things. Like just because you wanted to know something didn't mean you should run head first into possible danger.
Slowly she wandered through the cloud of dust, her articulated and pointed fingers wrapped in the hilts of her energon short swords just in case. It wouldn't do for her to be caught, or have the scrap beat out of her out in the middle of nowhere. She may not be the most battle savvy but she wasn't stupid!
Serotype waited for the dust to clear. In the middle of where the dust once was was a femme. There was no way for Serotype to tell for sure if this femme was a Bot or Con. The only way was to get in close. REAL close. She wrapped her hand around the hilt of one of her blades and jumped from her hiding spot. She drew her blade and landed square on top of the new-femme!
There was so little notice for the impact that Velocity didn't even get to turn her helm enough to look up at the plummeting Decepticon. The other femme hit her and it was hard! Vel fell down, face into the dirt and lie there motionless for a moment. She just honestly was no good at these types of things. Sure she could fend for herself for the most part but she preferred hit and run tactics or sniping from far away. This wasn't either of them and the jump was had on her. This particular Autobot was at one grand disadvantage.
"So, is this how you always greet others?" Instead of trying to move or get away, which could get her killed right now, she went for sarcasm. It was one of her other great personality features. Could get her scrapped just as easily but that never dissuaded her.
She debated on being a smart aft with this question. It was pretty straight forward as was the position she was currently in. Going back int he past the answer would have been yes, but that was a different time and different circumstances. Not only had she been an ally but also a friend of sorts. Vel had seen him in a time others may have mocked him for, and tried to help. It had touched her.
"No." Came the simple reply before she figured it was best to expand on that. "I am not. I am rather proud to be an Autobot thank you." Sometimes she had thought to be neutral just so things weren't so complicated.
Serotype hesitated for a moment as though she were evaluating the answer. After a moment, she reattached her blade and got up off of the femme carefully. She held out her hand to the femme.
"Then I mean you no harm. I am sorry for the ambush. I had no way of knowing where your allegiances lay," said Serotype.
Feeling and hearing the weight lift off of her Velocity still waited a moment before she took the offered hand and let the other help her stand up and backed away enough to keep her optics on the other femme but not seem rude. Vel was well versed in etiquette and the like, it had been something she was directly involved in most of her life, that and diplomacy.
"You mean me no harm? How could I possibly believe something like that?" The mostly black femme's voice was neutral as was her EMF and she neither moved forward nor backward while contemplating the other in front of her. "You are after all a Decepticon and our kinds do not seem keen on the getting along." Though she spoke this way nothing was threatening from her and her hands were now also just laying at her sides.
Serotype helped the femme to her feet. It was to be expected that this Autobot would choose to keep her distance. Serotype wasn't surprised by that.
"I do not expect you to believe it nor do I expect you to believe anything I tell you," said Serotype.
Her fingers glided over the insignia still on her chest and stopped there as if to indicate it. She had been meaning to get rid of it once she had a down moment.
"Though the proper title would be FORMER Decepticon. This insignia no longer belongs here. So for the time as far as I can see in to the future, I am nothing," said Serotype.
It really was hard to be in the presence of another when you weren't sure how to handle them. Velocity's optics roved up and down the other femme in a curious and wary fashion but she did relax her posture some. There had to be a reason she was in such a scuffle with the other Decepticons.
She didn't say anything for a short while but did listen to the other mech as she spoke. "I suspect then that the former has something to do with the problem I witnessed back there." Vel hooked a thumb back in the direction the other had come from. "I'm surprised you are still so close, they will obviously come to look for you." If she was important anyway. The other faction wasn't known for their caring and compassion.
Vel's insignia was high up on the outside of her thigh plating and she touched it reflexively. There was a time that she could have been in the exact same position as this other femme. "I have no idea what happened to you for your mind to change but hopefully you will survive the change of heart." As far as she knew once you were a Decepticon...you either stayed that way or perished.
"When you cheat death too many times in one sitting, perhaps it is the wiser choice to take action. As it stands currently, I have done many things to anger my old faction. So therefore, I have to set my course and keep going lest they catch up to me," said Serotype.
Although, as it currently stood she still had no plan of where to go next. She didn't have a set final destination in mind.
There was a nod from her at the words the other spoke. Vel herself didn't believe she had exactly cheated death. She had gotten lucky once and then been saved another. Though the time she had gotten lucky she would have rather not. It was a very sore spot with her and something that upset her just to think about. So instead of letting herself go down that all too familiar path she switched her standing position and let go of her EMF so that she wouldn't seem suspicious any longer.
Much like the other she also had no real plans of where she was headed. She just went where the inspiration took her lately, or where there was action to be had.
"Where ever the winds take me I guess. I happen to just go from place to place, I don't stay in one very often lately. If I had a reason to I might." She didn't have one of those yet. Though if Prime called for her she would drop whatever it was she was doing and go to him. Velocity was after all an Autobot and would help if ever needed.
Looking around she addressed the other again. "Which way will your course be taking you? Also, if you don't mind, what are you called? I am Velocity." Her friendliness was starting to show and since she sensed no danger coming from this one she saw no reason to keep it at bay.
"I am Serotype. It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Velocity," said Serotype politely.
Come to think of it, what was her plan? Escaping the Decepticons had been a major part of her plan. But the end goal. What was it other than just revenge? Surely, she wanted Megatron and just about every Con out there dead. But she couldn't do anything about that now. So therefore, she needed somewhere to go. Could Velocity help in this?
"As far as where the winds of travel take me, I am uncertain. I do know that I need to be certain soon if I wish to keep my life," said Serotype, "Although, I do wish to at least atone for my crimes. I cannot find peace until I have done at the very least that."
