//ooc// Set in the evening of Week 3, Day 3.
The Sedan tore down the highway like a deer with its feet on fire. The shocks protested with every swing around every curve, Sarita's brakes screeching as she tried to stay on the road. A shallow cut dribbled rivulets of blood, flowing down above and into her right eye. Her knuckles were white as she gripped the steering wheel, eyes darting to her mirrors every few seconds.
"Come on..." she growled, pressing harder on the gas. She wove like a snake between a pickup and another Sedan, the black, ominous figure of the Crown Victoria still in her sights. No matter what she did, no matter what mad turns or back road she floored down, the car had been chasing her for the last few miles. Up ahead, the lights of heavier traffic were starting to appear, and there were no nearby exits to turn down.
Either a country road had to turn up soon, or she had two options: blitz through after-hours traffic and try not to be stopped or killed, or go off-road. Both were suicidal, neither guaranteed that the Crown Victoria would get lost or have an accident, and Miko's safety was compromised in either.
The woman glanced over at the punk-haired, loud little teenager, trying to smile but grimacing all the way. "'S'gonna get a bit bumpier around here, chica..." she murmured, taking a deep breath as she blazed past a series of cars. "Make sure your seatbelt is nice and tight, okay?"
How did she keep running into this girl. How did she keep having to pull her out of some sort of situation? This was the third time, the third time, that Miko had been either rescued or assisted by the singer.
And to think, it was all because Sarita had stopped to eat a burger on the side of the road....
