The Mariana Islands had been a long-time locus for energon veins since the Autobots and Decepticons first made planet fall. They had remained mostly untouched, however, due to the majority of the strong mineral veins being below sea level and inaccessible to mechanisms not build for submarine exploration. In the case of the Deceptions, their Vehicons troopers and miners were not equipped for either the pressure, the saline composition of tropical waters, or the under water terrtain and while the veins were sizable Starscream was fragging lazy.
The biggest energon depoit, the one beneath Rota Island, had been uncontested for decades and listed as one of the inaccessible deposits until very recently. Very recently, the Autobots had been fortunate enough to get a new earth-bound recruit in the form of the heavy hitter, Autobot front-liner, and former miner, League. Unlike his fellow Autobots, his alt was aquatic in nature and while this tended to put him out on a lot of lonely sea-based patrols away from their land-locked base… it also meant the Autobots now had uncontested access to all seabed energon veins.
Bumblebee and League were on an energon run.
The little scout had parked his aft in the shallows on the uninhabited side of the island, down in the tidepools below the sharp drop off the sea-side cliffs. Here he was helping League move raw energon crystals through the ground bridge and, between loads, sunning himself shamelessly while the tide rolled in and out around his tires. There was little risk of notice on this side of the island. Uninhabited at it was. Warm and comfortable, Bee opened his comm. and got on with his main task and reason for being out here: keeping League company while he worked.
::How goes the dig? You get into that cavern you mentioned?::
