The more Javelin spoke, the more confused Carbine became in regards to her profession. With a messenger... he would think it was parcels or other objects. Or perhaps it would be messages that the individual did NOT wish to go through digital means where others could intercept. Important, valuable... yet Javelin said they were mundane things. This didn't add up to him. No higher up scanner Cybertronian that monitored frequencies or tapped into a line searching for something would give a crap about calls like that. She seemed to explain it away via construction sites and areas personal comms were an issue, but... makeshift 'land lines' were a thing...? Unless, once again, this was a rougher border world, and he was thinking in terms of big city logic.
He didn't really pry further though, shrugging it off as an area of expertise he didn't know anything about. It was likely no different than if someone was belting out how to manufacture frameworks for shuttlecraft, or how to run electrical for a display screen or who knows what... he never had any need to learn, and what he would know was so rudimentary and basic there was no real knowledge worth anything in there. Watching little 'how it is made' crap shows don't teach you any real tips and tricks.
The subject shifted gears anyway.
"Search and Res͢cue͟ ̢is͢ a d́-di̛f́f͢erent directive than app̢r̕e͏hend. He can hunt you down̛ to̶ help for sure no th-threat! Just nee͢d s̴o͏m̛et̡h͞in̛g you own and have h-handled enough to give him a signature."
It wasn't Carbine's primary profession, he didn't go out to rural areas with Bolo and try to track down individuals that got lost... but sometimes someone went missing in larger cities, or an issue happened with a sinkhole or other disaster and someone needed to be found. Help guide medics to the right goal. It was a simple tweak in commands, utilize the drug sniffing powers and someone's belongings to set him on track, or just a more generic 'find person' goal. Bolo's search mode didn’t involve biting, because... well... you don't want the dog to straight up try to EAT any drugs he did happen to find, so it worked out nicely as a weird little side job.
"If you w-w̡-͢wa͡nt ͢him to find you and then give chas͢e ́if͘ y͏ou run... there is a chan̴ce he could get over eager and thrash, so I wouldn't rec̀om̕me͡n͠d."
Try as he might to tell Bolo to ease up, unless he was there to draw a line there was a chance the Cassette could take things a smidge too far if he got too excited and wound up. He wouldn’t absolutely rip off Javelin's arm or anything, he wouldn’t bite and gnaw and crush her limb down to the strut if her armor was thin enough to allow such a thing... but that didn’t mean there wouldn’t be possible dents, or prong holes from the teeth, or a tweaked joint if he thrashed and tried to pull the arm the wrong direction. Javelin wasn't small, but Bolo wasn’t necessarily small either. He could possibly straight up lodge her entire head in his mouth should he be on true attack mode.
When chasing a criminal for a real take-down, you don't necessarily care if they got a bit slapped around should they be real dangers to the sector.
"Hide and seek̕ co͏u̷l͜d be͏ ̡fun though! B-but you will need to g͡ét cļe̶ver. Bolo is a particularly good boy."
A smug comment, a bit of a taunt in there... the bottom edge of Carbine's eyes crooked up in amusement. He would enjoy this game for sure, and would jump if a situation came up to try it out.
