--True! Though what’s the worst that could happen?-- he laughed.
--Well, no, it could probably explode. That’d be pretty bad. Okay so no random switch or button pressing…--
Honestly, it’d be pretty hard for him to even do so. The switches and buttons weren’t exactly made for Cybertronian servos, and his clunky digits meant it’d be a struggle to do much of anything aside from the basics. The on and off switch was easy enough to use, a gentle poke and he could toggle that - though the others were a lot smaller, and the last thing he wanted to do was accidentally break them.
Perhaps Javelin would have an easier time, should they actually need to mess around with some of the fiddlier switches.
Watching the femme as she leaned in, he listened as she spoke - bobbing his head at her words and looking to the generator as she went over the various parts. The fact the generator had power was good, though the fact it wasn’t doing anything else despite this was bad. That was about as far as he’d gotten, so to hear Javelin come up with a possible idea as to what was wrong? He felt confident in that they could work it out together.
He wouldn’t move as she stood up, remaining crouched where he was - though would turn his attention to Javelin once more.
--Oh, yeah! A few of the older kids at Raf’s school have cars, and some are reeeeal clunkers that take a second to get going. It sounds painful!-- even if the cars were just that - and weren’t Cybertronian - he could only imagine how awful it must feel, and he often found himself sympathizing with them. Coughing, gasping - before spluttering and finally turning over as the engine roared to life. He always found himself thankful that they were built a little bit differently and didn’t (normally) have such issues.
--As for the starter, it’s probably a good place to start! Opening the front panel is a good idea, maybe the issue will be more apparent that way as well.--
If it wasn’t the starter, maybe being able to see inside the thing in general would help - there could be a blockage or something. This place was a little dusty, what with them living in a desert - maybe all it needed was a simple cleaning.
--Now uhhhh… How to open it without breaking it… Is that in the manual? You have smaller servos than me, maybe you should do it so I don't break it by accident.--
While they could simply brute force it open, that’d damage it to the point they wouldn’t be able to put it back, and the whole point of this was to fix it, after all!
