“Yeah! Why wouldn’t it be?”
A gentle grumble sounded as Cintra continued talking, almost as if second-guessing himself. She knew more about things than he did at times, and he found himself wondering if there really was going to be water nearby. The only thing that made him think maybe there wouldn’t, was the fact he couldn’t hear anything that sounded like water.
Not that he was such a pro on the topic.
“Yeah yeah, we’ll see.” he scoffed, chuckling as he continued to trudge his way up the hill that felt like it’d gotten even steeper the more he moved. There was no wonder there wasn’t anything around here except weird trees, weird things that buzzed, and uh… possibly water… it was absolutely shit to get around.
He could cheat, suffer through some momentary pain and transform to simply fly to the top of the hill and find out what lurked on the other side, but the fact they didn’t know meant there was too much risk. What if there were Autobots or those weird fleshy natives there? Or those evil guys that he couldn’t remember the name of? Even if Cintra was more than capable of handling herself, he wanted to remain on the ground to keep her close.
This was still a struggle, and was unfortunately looking to be a long, drawn-out climb. To be fair, Cintra had an advantage in that she was small and could navigate somewhat with ease - but to him? This was borderline torture.
Still, he’d suffer in silence - not one to complain, even if the whirring of his vents showed how much his frame had begun to protest the incline. Turning his gaze down so he could keep track of where he was putting his pedes, he noted that Cintra seemed to have started moving again - it’d only taken her ohhh.. thirty seconds or so, which was honestly longer than he’d expected.
As long as he could hear her, he felt no need to look up and see where abouts she was. With a bulkier frame he’d have to take the route that’d be safer for him, meaning every step needed thought and concentration.
A concentration that was immediately broken with two, whined words that made his tank lurch.
Attention snapping upwards to look just how far Cintra had gone and just where she had gotten herself stuck, he saw the problem in an instant.
“Hang on!”
Primus Cintra, of all the places in the world to get yourself stuck it had to be on (what felt like, but was certainly not) the steepest mountain on this damn planet.
He didn’t want to stop moving and ruin what precious momentum he had, however the terrain between both himself and the femme looked tricky. At least, for him. A sharper incline, smooth rocks, a frame-breaking drop to the side…
Great, just great.
Normally he’d rush over in an instant to protect his gal, surging his frame and ignoring any HUD warnings and pain to temporarily push past his normal capabilities to rescue her from whatever mess or danger she’d found herself in. But this mountain meant he couldn’t just charge on in there like a big damn hero.
Didn’t mean he wouldn’t try, though.
“Just hang tight yeah? Prob’ly gonna take me a second to get up there but don’t panic.”
Easier said than done, he was sure.
While he was not fast by any means, his pace had certainly quickened as he began making his way toward the stricken femme. Before, where each step was almost calculated, he would begin to climb with urgency - and little regard for himself. Leaning forward some to keep himself stable at this faster pace, with servos ready to slam down onto rock to either stop himself from sliding, or to give himself a much needed boost.
