Relief was felt instantly when Prowl turned, Optimus thankful that he did not need to continue the ruse with some sort of debate on the topic. He knew as a fact that he would not be able to hold up his own lies through longer scrutiny, and Knock Out no doubt would sniff out just what was wrong and what was actually occurring quickly. The second it would start to unravel, he would be out of luck, and there would be no recovery from such a thing. These thoughts were paired with a single glance that was cast over at his Officer as he departed, holding its focus until the door fully closed and they were left alone... or... as alone as it actually was. There was no saying which other individual of rank may show up to observe, though it was but a fleeting thought, and he paid it no heed, more invested in what the mech before him was thinking.
As with the previous offer, Knock Out's initial words fell into open air, no recognition to be seen in Optimus' features to show that anything had even been uttered to begin with. While in theory it could be beneficial to put their captive to work under heavy supervision to try to amend some of the issues his team faced, including his own wounds, they were not at such a point in his opinion. They had more important things to address first, things that had outside timers that were undoubtedly ticking away at every passing moment. While this distraction tactic was disregarded, what was taken with more note was the fact that the topic of the tire tracks had been picked out of the available options.
Why did Knock Out decide to focus on that? One could take it in only two ways, the first being a tactical choice to try to play the game, while the other was that it may have been flippantly chosen out of boredom. From what Optimus knew of the red mech, he wouldn't put it past him for it to be randomly run towards, however discrediting any calculated actions due to it would be an act of ignorance. Whether it was yes or no, this or that, a path was set, and that was what was important to get things moving.
"Very well."
Easing his weight back slightly, Optimus made no effort to seek a chair or other more relaxed state for a longer discussion. He wasn't here to make a friend, nor try to start a rapport of any kind. He didn't plan to spend an entire day within this room. He was here for results. Due to this, he spoke further, his words lowered with a dare behind them, a sense that he knew far more than was even hinted at previously.
"Would you care to elaborate on the other tracks that were present?"
