Primus, this couldn't be worse, when all she wanted was to not be noticed, not be worried about, not be something worth protesting, and it was only her desire to stay harmless and unimportant and unobjectionable that kept Shadow from shoving Ironhide away. As if she didn't know Cleaver was cohort, and a medic, and not an Autobot, the last of which made her expectations utterly unknown, and the first of which made her a potential threat. Jazz showing up had been bad, but at least with Jazz she'd had some idea what to expect (no matter how often he had confounded her expectations), and some hope of getting on his good side. With Cleaver, she had nothing to go on but Ironhide's obviously-biased observations.
Perhaps more importantly, dealing with Jazz had been unavoidable, where with Cleaver there was no need whatsoever to put herself in the potential line of fire. Shadow could have quite happily gone the rest of her function without giving Cleaver a reason to know about her.
It didn't help that she didn't know why she had come up now, when Ironhide had never felt the need to mention her before. She'd always hated going into anything blind, but it was too late to do anything about any of it now, except pull her field in tight to her frame and hope for the best...which wasn't particularly easy, with Cleaver's optics on her like that, and when she didn't really know what Ironhide was up to.
"Run from Ratchet like a coward. Sound tactical advice; I will definitely keep that in mind," she said with a grin she didn't feel, but which would be enough to make her subsequent slip from Ironhide's grasp seem like lighthearted play, rather than the escape it was. She sidestepped so she was no longer between Ironhide and Cleaver, but could keep an optic on them both. Harmless and unimportant and no really, you do not need to be paying me this much attention. She shifted to look at Cleaver, adding, "Though the worst thing that happened was a Decepticon biting me, and I'd already patched the bite before Ratchet started yelling."
<<I imagine there's more than enough visible evidence of repairs for Cleaver to tell Shadow's lying through her dente on that last one, but Ironhide's the only one who knows Shadow well enough to tell she's utterly BSing the rest.>>
