Nell knew there had to be something more to what Miko had been up to, and she was honestly glad she was not the only one who thought so. She shared the look with Smokescreen for a brief moment before her attention turned back on the younger girl. She wasn’t going to press it, especially since it was likely nothing, but it was probably a good idea for her to get back to work – and if the girl was going to help? Might as well get it before her attention drifts off.
Her lips did curl into a slight smile when Smokescreen spoke up about asking questions, and a soft laugh left the Army mechanic. “That’s fine by me.” She replied – really she was curious to what sort of questions he’d ask anyways.
As for how the kids got entangled with the Autobots, hearing it was all Raf’s fault made her brow raised and she sent a glance up at Smokescreen for a brief moment. Hearing there was a fight, and that the kids were just there, annnnd that it got a little messy…Well then, that was interesting to hear and she was really glad when the big guy spoke up with a dry remark.
“He’s got a point you know, there has to be more than that.” Nell pointed out as they neared the leaky broom closet.
"No, really! That was it. Bad timing and I got held behind for detention. Raf was just goofing off nearby. Just think, if we hadn't happened to just be nearby when a fight between two aliens broke out, we wouldn't be here now!" Actually the more she thought about that, the less she liked it. She could just be like everyone else in town: dumb and oblivious to what was going on. She'd still be in this stupid town with nothing to do and too proud to beg to go back home. She even wrote her mom emails telling her how much she just loved the place. When the truth was, Miko really did not like this stupid, boring town.
Even the food wasn't that good. She'd kill for decent candy. The chocolate on this continent tasted gross.
"Besides, that's ancient history. We're here and there is no going back." There was definitely a little edge to her voice at the thought of taking all this away from her. Huh uh. No way. She was sticking to Bulkhead like tick stuck to a dog.
Smokescreen thought over what he knew about the human in front off him and he couldn't help the smile that curled the edges of his lips. "I'm pretty confident you'd have found us eventually," the Autobot remarked. "Maybe not Raf and Jack. But if even half the things I've heard about what you get up to is true, then there's no way you wouldn't have found us out."
Miko's tendency to get herself into trouble was just about downright miraculous. A lot of Autobots had gone on at length about it. It was impressive, really. A Wrecker in human shaped form. Which reminded him, he really wanted to roll with them at some point. Well, Bulkhead at least, since the other Wrecker, Wheeljack, had left the Omega base. But that was neither here or now.
Smokescreen lifted his head and turned his attention to the other human. "How about you, Nell? You said Fowler brought you in on this but was your first meeting with a Bot as exciting as Miko's?"
Still, Nell couldn't help but feel just a little bit skeptical about that being it but what Smokescreen said? Well, that certainly sounded like it'd be the case. A chuckle left the mechanic, and her eyes drifted upwards to look at the Autobot beside them. “Shit, you've got a point there, Smokey.” She commented and really? The girl looked like she was the type to either go looking for trouble, or trouble went looking for her.
As for the slight edge in Miko's voice? Nell raised a brow at her. “I think you've got nothin' to worry about there, unless things get really dangerous – in which case I think Fowler would want to keep an even closer eye on you kids.” She pointed out. When the question on her first meeting with a Bot though, a more snorted laugh left her. “Let's just say I thought he was pullin' my goddamn leg when he said you guys were big, and when I met Optimus the first time I'm pretty sure your leader there was not amused with my..Colorful language.” There was a shit eating grin on her face for a moment.
“I took it in stride though, prove Fowler right that I can handle whats thrown at me.” Her nose wrinkled. “At least for the most part, fuckin' pipes burstin' on me isn't exactly the funnest thing on the planet.” Her eyes flick towards Miko for a moment or two, as if realizing the girl was well..A kid and she wasn't using the most kid friendly of language. “Just so ya know, don't go repeatin' my use of words – last thing I want is for the big guys in charge to chew my head off for teachin' you every swear in the book.” Nell remarked as she pushed a wet strand of hair from her face.
“So Smokescreen...What was your reaction to meetin' us humans for the first time anyways? Cause it's a big thing to us squishies, but what was it like on your end?”
