Oh how weird it was to watch him seem so happy to wave the reader over her credit chip, she had never seen anyone that happy over money. Then again, the femme was surrounded by those who were not struggling and had few worries (at least financial worries) lingering in the back of their minds.
Hearing that silence cost extra though? Made her optics dimmed for a brief moment in pure shock that his silence could cost far more than his investigation. After all, it would be understandable if that was the reason why he charged so little for his investigatory services - only to charge a proverbial arm and a leg for keeping silent about it.
A slow stream of air left her vents when he winked and told her that he was just kidding. It was a relief, though and his questioning look made her energon run cold. “It is not so much a Towerling thing but...” The femme paused for a moment, debating if she should tell him. “Cipher is not a Towerling, not even close.” She finally spit it out because really? It wasn't like he wouldn't find that out while looking into the mech.
“I want to make sure his intentions with me are not malicious or false and even if they were? I do not want to see him harmed in anyway.” A soft laugh left her. “It is ridiculous I know, but I would rather break it off than to hear that happened. Just like I rather not let my cohort know I have fallen for someone who is supposedly...” The femme frowned slightly, her optics narrowing slightly. “Beneath me.” The words were said with more than just a little distaste. “If he is as good of a mech that I think he is? Then I do not want to see something happen to him because they want him imprisoned or what have you just for fraternizing with me.”
There was another stream of air from her vents. “I understand, they are protective of me because I am one of the few sparklings in my cohort but at the same time? I do not need them to hold my hand like I am still a protoform just learning how to take my first steps.” Rota explained before giving the brown mech a slightly awkward smile. “And I did not mean to vent like that, but I hope it does help you understand the reason why I do not want this getting out?” Really, she felt like she could eventually tell her Cohort about Cipher but, it was a little too soon for that.
