Bee vented out a long, exasperated whir of a sigh as he watched Bolo scatter across the red dirt. His arms were up, with both servos resting on the back of his head – like an exhausted parent who'd resigned himself to whatever mischief their child was getting into. There was no way he could catch Bolo, heck he couldn't even work out which way the pup was going to go next! Just when he thought Bolo was going to charge left, the canine bolted right instead. He'd given up trying to chase, and so was content to stand and watch; trying to work out how to wrangle the excited pup back and toward the base.
It was nice, in a way, to watch. All the stress and panic of how much trouble they were probably going to get in aside, Bolo looked so carefree as he bounded around. Being cooped up in the base was bad enough for a normal Cybertronian, he couldn't even imagine what it was like being stuck inside as an animal – and even then he probably spent most of his time docked, which was probably even worse.
The closest thing Bee had to this feeling of freedom was the school run – that was the one time he was allowed out of the base on his own, and only because Jasper was so close. Everywhere else, the buddy system was in place and they were usually out on missions and patrols – with no real time for slacking off and having fun. Well, depending on whoever Bee was with, anyway.
His thoughts snapped back to the present as Bolo began charging toward him. Had he had enough? Was it time to go back inside? Had Carbine called him somehow and Bolo knew that playtime was over? Bee's field flickered with relief as Bolo got closer, and closer...
...Only to blast past him with what looked to be a broad, happy grin on his faceplate.
Ghn... They shouldn't be out here. But it'd been a good few minutes now, and nobody had called over the comms to find out where they'd gone or what they were doing. Carbine hadn't come roaring out of the tunnel demanding an explanation.
He'd lower his arms as Bolo charged past again and again. He didn't understand most canine body language, but this was beyond obvious – Bolo wanted to play with him. So very badly.
Bee didn't take the bait just yet, however. Weighing up the pros and cons of the situation. The pros were... Well, this could be really fun! It'd been a long time since Bee had had a chance to really wind down, and the running around could probably do him some good, too – it was like training, in a way! It'd tire Bolo out, meaning he would be more cooperative in returning to the base later – and a sleepy pup is always a good thing, so maybe Carbine would appreciate that. It'd strengthen the friendship between Bee and Bolo, and could maybe lead to Bee asking Carbine later to teach him more words, or even let him take Bolo out for real in future.
The cons? Well... Where to even start. This was against the rules. Bolo could get too excited and run off, leaving Bee no chance of ever catching up. Carbine would probably be furious. Optimus would probably be furious. Bee would never be trusted again. They could get spotted by humans. Carbine would hate him.
But... It wasn't like there was anyone around... He hadn't heard a single car in the time they'd been out here. When they said this place was in the middle of nowhere, they weren't lying. The chance of being spotted, while it was there, was probably slim...
The pros outweighed the cons, here, for sure. Even though there was still all the risk and the punishments would be horrible, he couldn't say no to that face!
--Okay! You win! But only for a bit okay?-- He finally relented, then again it wasn't like it took much!
One thing was for certain, and that was that he didn't want to play right outside the entrance of the Omega Base. If someone did come or go, Bee didn't want to explain what they were doing out here. That could be a new game! Hide behind a giant rock if a human drove past or if someone from the Autobot team was around!
This was a terrible idea, and deep down he probably knew it – but for now, he would play.
He'd push off with one pede, charging across the dirt and away from the entrance to the base. He wouldn't go far, he wasn't that silly, but he went far enough to give them both space to move – as well as room to hide should someone be in the area.
He'd skid to a stop a short time later, quickly swiveling around and lowering into a half crouch, both arms out at his sides.
--Well c'mon then!!--
