((Skipping Red, as per request.))
Once the small group had made it through the sleepy town of Jasper, they were back onto the open road, with Red Alert continuing to lead the way.
Bumblebee wasn’t sure where they were going- he hadn’t driven outside of the small town very often, if only because there wasn’t really much of anything out here. Desert, and more desert, with a single main road that would eventually lead onto one of the many freeways that connected this state to others.
It felt like forever, but eventually, trees began to populate the area they were heading into, and they veered off the main road onto a smaller dirt track that looked like it hadn’t seen much use at all in recent days. The area stood out immediately as being secluded - the perfect spot for an ambush from either MECH or the Decepticons.
The small picnic tables that were scattered around the area were sunbleached in spots, the weeds overgrown through the dried out grass, a bulletin board littered with faded papers and maps - and a smashed fence.
Like Optimus, Bumblebee did not come to a full stop before transitioning into his rootmode - Ratchet’s datapad tucking safely into his subspace as he did. It was evident where Ratchet had gone, but that was the only obvious thing about the situation. There were no blast or scorch marks, no telltale signs of any real sort of struggle or a fight. Nothing had been left behind, and if it weren’t for the broken barrier? Nothing seemed amiss at all.
The momentum from his transformation kept him going a few steps, and he’d slide to a skidded stop atop the cliff that Ratchet had made his way down.
A first initial glance down into the ravine did not reveal much. But from up here, it was hard to tell. There was water that did not appear to be too deep compared to a Cybertronian, which- if Ratchet had landed in, would make it hard for Red Alert to follow any sort of scent.
But they still had Bolo.
::--Carbine do you see anything from up there?--::
He knew the helicopter mech wouldn’t be too far behind them, and he had the advantage of being up above. Maybe he could see further along the small river from his vantage point, or notice any signs of MECH that didn’t stand out from this angle.
There was the briefest flicker of hesitation, no orders had been given for him to remain standing up here, but in a way it felt like he was acting out by rushing ahead without prompting. But- there was no time for doubt or delay, and a second later Bumblebee would jump, scrabbling down the rocks as carefully as he could to get to the bottom of the ravine. He was smaller and far more agile than both Optimus and Red Alert, and any head start he could get would be crucial in these moments.
Landing with a splash in the mid-shin-deep water, Bumblebee would push forwards - trying to find any sort of clue or even the smallest sign of what’d happened.
