One small word. In the softest of tones.
There was a tiny lift of the tips of metal behind her shoulders as Dart peeked over at Thundercracker.
She watched his gaze fix on the world spread out below them. His body language changed; the soft lean of his shoulders, the way he stared out quietly, raptly over the mountains and the crags of the Oregon range.
Sure, she could admit it was beautiful up here, but for her to say it was beautiful was one thing. For a mech recently arrived? It solidified in her that he had to have been familiar with other planets, other places. Dart loved Earth, but she basically had no other reference point. Well, not until recently. The Cybertron she'd been able to see while she was in the sim was a mixture of pieces and parts and the minds of others. Was some of it likely spot on to the reality of it now? Yes. Other parts, well- Dart knew... they'd never existed. Those parts were mentally glued precariously together by someone's will and someone else's regret.
Sunshine rippled along the rocks, turning the tips golden and bright.
Everything the light touches-
Erk, not exactly a movie moment here. Well, hopefully no one was being thrown to to the wildebeests later.
"The Autobots are allies with a lot of them, sir," she nodded, even as she thought of Miko's brave uppercut into her face. She'd sacrificed her guitar for Bulkhead, and Dart had a small twinge of guilt as she realized it was still squirreled away, wrapped up in a sheet of bubble-wrap and a tarp.
Then there was Raf. Soft spoken, smart and incredibly thoughtful, and yet brave as he could possibly be. Even after all that had happened between them, he'd been willing to listen to her. To help in some way. There had been another one too, the young man on the phone when she'd used that number Maximus had repeated over and over again.
Dart had no idea how many more humans knew. The folks out there that didn't want to deal with either faction, they had a lot of dealings with the humans. Max for sure worked with a lot; she'd smelled faint hints on his plating.
Plus there were probably a lot more random ones out there. Ones that met by accident and perhaps both had been astounded. Things happened like that, she was pretty darn sure of it.
Dart shook herself softly with a rattle of plating and looked out over the landscape again.
"Really though, I think a lot of them are simply friends."
