Honestly, Jack had never had much of an extended conversation with the Supreme Leader of the Autobots, so this combined with all of the revelations that were coming up in this conversation were a bit...well it was an interesting feeling.
If he was being completely honest, he figured a conversation with Optimus Prime would be similar to what having a talk with one’s father would be like. Though he would not know much of that, as his relationship with his father was complicated, considering that he had not really seen much of him since he was a child.
Something stuck in the back of his mind though, as he was processing the information which Optimus had just revealed to him. How exactly did Optimus know all of this? He had mentioned that Megatron had been campaigning for a rapid change in government, could it be then that Megatron had put out his background in a sort of public relations campaign? Or did this mean something else?
There was only one way to find out.
“Optimus, how do you know so much about Megatron?”

"A portion of time already lived before a significant change in lifestyle or circumstance."
A hollow simple definition, clarifying that there was no act of reincarnation in play here. Perhaps his phrasing was a bit too convoluted using such a term, however it was easily remedied. That said, many believed when ones Spark returned to the All-Spark they would eventually come back into the ream of the living anew to a different life and start, however this was a topic of beliefs and what some argued were facts, a debate Optimus would not get involved in given the nature of it. He would cold stop that discussion where it stood.
After this was clarified, the semi would transition once more onto a road, the asphalt beginning to look a bit more aged and neglected, though was more than functional and lacking potholes or real issues. Businesses and buildings faded completely out, along with trees and foliage growing more sparse and spread out. Beside the road were lone powerlines, the posts made of wood with only a few cables stretching parallel to the road. It is this that would lead them back to Omega in due time, the drive an easy one really to get them to base.
Much easier than Jack's following question.
A low sigh slipped out at this, a deep exhale that sounded from the engine of his real frame rather than the Holoform that sat in the driver's seat. It was different from the hum of consideration used previously, more tired and thoughtful, though didn’t hold a growl of annoyance within. It was a question that could open quite a few doors, as well as baiting on an abundance of other questions. It was easier if something like that had been asked of someone else, an individual divided from the events a few paces that couldn’t answer or contend with 'How did that make Optimus feel?' Type questions.
After a notable pause, the Holoform staring ahead blankly the entire time, a calm reply was offered.
"Before methods deviated, he and I worked in tandem to usher change."
They ushered change all right. It was a chance Optimus would have never envisioned or wanted in any way shape or form, it effectively blindsiding him. There was no way to properly prepare oneself that the idea of striving for a peaceful resolution with all legalities honored, would mutate into a civil war that consumed their entire world. Civil war? Ok... that was possible should things go out of control... but the loss of their entire planet and so many lives was catastrophic and was hard to envision as a possibility so long ago.
"Given extensive lifespans, one cannot always compare who they see now, to who they once were."
