The scientist quickly took note of the crystalline blue scattered across the floor. He followed the trail, shard after shard, surprised, confused, but not yet unnerved. Then he saw the source across, lifting his optics. A dying bot...It surprised him how little the sight unsettled him at first. Iacon was full of them, after all. He was shaken, of course, but that's all.
Still, Neon felt remorse for the fallen, even if they were the enemy.
He watched Bumblebee approach closer, seeking to enact the mercy kill, most likely with a single shot from his blaster. But the thing is, the Vehicon was not dead yet–and that struck Neon as odd. Could an Autobot really do something like this?
"Bumblebee, wait..."
His voice trailed off softly.
Neon knew some Autobots were different from him. That they didn't think twice about killing others. Even some of the most compassionate people he knew had a tendency to see the Vehicons as lesser–as simple drones. It saddened him, but that was simply one of the war's many tragedies.
But this...This was different from taking a life.
He just could not agree with what he saw. Whoever did this was either lazy or cruel to leave another living being suffering in such a condition for pointless cycles. That an Autobot would do something so evil–it rocked Neon to the very core of his being.
"If one of us did this, we need to do something. I mean, look at him, he is hurting!"
A solemn pause, a servo extended towards the fading Spark.
"Sorry...I-I...It`s just difficult for me to accept an Autobot would do this."
His face contorted in disgust. He got angrier the longer he looked at the corpse-to-be.
But even when overcome by emotion, Neon wished there was another way to help, yet he understood why Bumblebee thought he had to do what he was about to do. After all, it would be just as bad to prolong the Vehicon's suffering any longer.
"Do what you have to."
The colorful mech closed his eyes. He did not want to watch one Autobot clean up after the crimes of another.
Wheeljack...
Deep down, on some level, he hoped Bumblebee was wrong.
