“We’re not here to comment on the scenery.” Prowl said simply as his servo shifted back into a hand once he was satisfied they weren’t going to be fighting anytime soon.
Once Bumblebee was through the ground bridge and with them the vortex snapped shut with a hiss, and there was a silence that was only interrupted by the sound of wind that blew through the trees and the sound of running water. That meant they were probably in the right place, and the mine would be on the other side of the trees and across the river.
“Understood Jazz. Take Bumblebee and approach from the south as we planned. Sunstreaker, you and I will wait in the treeline directly across from the mine. Remember, stealth over speed and firepower.”
There was no way in the Pits of Kaon that the four of them would be able to overrun the mine on their own like this if they just went in weapons blazing. Even if the Decepticon’s didn’t manage to get out a call for reinforcements, they were still outnumbered at least five to one. But if they could keep the element of surprise there was a chance that they could pull this off and have a victory after a series of defeats. And as much as Prowl didn’t care about individual feelings, he knew that if they had a victory it would lift everyone’s spirits and inspire them to do their jobs better.
He began to advance towards the treeline, making sure to move carefully and deliberately in an attempt to make the minimal amount of noise possible. He wasn’t originally designed for stealth operations, but he had picked up a few tricks from his previous life as a criminal investigator and patrol enforcer.
Hearing Jazz cut in on his private line startled him slightly, causing him to stumble forward before he caught himself with a hand on the ground.
::Now’s not the time to start asking questions Jazz. You had your chance back at the base.::
