Backbeat leaned away from the trailer, his head peaking around to see Starkrieger doing something to the truck. Backbeat couldn’t make out what. “You can’t blame me for wanting to cut to the heart of this matter… Besides, I’m sure that crash has removed any real evidence.” Radioed back Backbeat, who quickly returned to inspecting his ill-gotten gains. He’d already started planning the next operation in his head. This had been a relatively good test run, but they’d only reliably be able to set up a situation like this with a lot of work… Work he could admit to himself he really didn’t want to do. This had started out as a way avoid filling out supply request forums. He’d be damned if his attempt to be lazy got him more work. As well, the ever-looming threat of Decepticon High Command giving him the axe was another argument for making his work more efficient.
Pilfering one of the steel sheets of metal, Backbeat would examine the object in his claws. These would be most useful to the Decepticon cause. While this supply was limited, Backbeat could easily use this as proof of concept for more operations. Perhaps he could convince High Command to look into acquiring some of the human currency, with that he could easily avoid the risks of direct acquisition. Certainly make his life easier.
He would turn to face the crashed truck and his Decepticon ally. Where it not for the facemask, he could easily be described as grinning. Backbeat held the metal plate above his head. “Behold!” Backbeat shouted excitedly over the radio. “Guess the humans were wrong! Crime does pay.” He starts too slowly over. He would then add over the radio: “You find out what happened to the driver?”
