Week 1, Day One
"There, that should do it."
The youth gave the straps on his backpack one extra tug before securing them tightly. Looking everything over, Raf nodded at his handiwork. His backpack was done up a lot tighter than normal, but he wanted to be certain nothing was going to come tumbling out.
As usual, his laptop was in there, along with a portable power bank, a large spill-proof water bottle, several books, and a few odds and ends.
Unlike his usual clothing, today Raf was wearing shorts and t-shirt, and a baseball cap pulled down over his wild head of hair. The T-shirt was black, with a neon green image of a keyboard on it, shorts also black. The baseball cap looked a little tattered, and was a dusty navy blue.
Pale arms and legs was testimony the youth didn't go out in the sun very much - or if he did, he wasn't used to wearing sporting gear.
Normally, Raf wasn't all that comfortable with wearing that sort of clothing, but sometimes the situation called for it, and today was one of those days.
Raf was taking Bee fossil-hunting.
He needed something for a school project he was working on, and had decided on taking some pictures of Trilobites to add. At first he had been going to ask his father to take him on a weekend, but suddenly had an idea.
He could ask Bee!
Bee had told Raf so many things about Cybertron, Raf wanted to share something cool about Earth with Bumblebee. So this was the perfect chance.
Raf readjusted the baseball hat on his head for the tenth time, backpack on the floor by his feet, and waited for his friend; small figure with an oversized backpack, standing near large machinery of alien technology capable of creating a portal anywhere on Earth.
