Introduction

The Transformers fan base has many different things people see as true and false when it comes to their functions. For example, some individuals think all Cybertronians should have the ability to see in the dark, while others may not play this ability in their posts and leave their character blind in inky conditions.

On this forum, we strive to respect and honor these fluctuations; everyone is expected to tip their metaphorical hats in understanding and let these details skim past or not comment if they don't align 100% with their own ideals.

This attribute is something we pride ourselves on. We don't expect everyone to meet the same exact mold, but some things sadly are a bit too out of the norm to be brushed aside or hand waved. There are concepts in this fan base that would force or corner others into a weird clash where two different worlds are trying to meet, and that doesn't always go too well. It is because of this some of the things listed below are what this forum recognizes as law. We try not to populate this with too much, and ask for your understanding with these decisions.

Reproduction

There isn't any.

We understand there is a vast expanse of players that like to apply this particular human attribute to Cybertronians, wanting families, or the ability to bring their own little baby bots into this world that are an interesting fusion of two characters. Unfortunately, it is far too out of line with what the game forum can recognize. It also clashes with what the Prime cartoon shows as canon, when Optimus states that the concept of a 'family' was new to him - a term he only just learned on Earth.

What this means for applicants is they will be asked to remove any reference in their application to mothers or fathers as well as the concept of being born. (Unless of course you are applying to play a human!) The closest one can have to a childhood for a Cybertronian in this universe is that the character was created as a Sparkling frame, which was almost a designer 'pet' for the extremely wealthy that could afford to attempt to mimic traditional life. More information on those can be found in the Glossary located HERE.

Holoforms

Holoforms are represented in many ways on this forum, with some Cybertronians not even having any to begin with. This is completely up to the user, and what you want to do with them. However, there are some minor rules so that they simply don’t become cheap means to accomplish something with no risk involved.

If a holoform has tangible solid light, and can be shot at or ran over by machinery, then still reform and grab a thumb drive or other device? All of the threat, suspense, and drama is instantly removed from the situation.

Because of this there are a few rules to keep in mind for using a Holoform in active gameplay.

Physical Attribute: If the Holoform can leave the Cybertronian's altmode and traverse some distance away to accomplish a task on its own, there should probably be some physical THING that is actually projecting the imagery. This is up to the user. It can be a series of tiny projectors that hover about, or it could be one core projector in the chest, or anything in-between or other unique ideas.

Hard Light Backlash: If your character's Holoform is tangible and able to physically interact with the world (such as picking up objects, shaking hands with humans, etc) it is considered a Hard Light type. As stated at the intro to this subsection, if you can grab something of value, be killed and then hop right up again, that's an incredibly unfair advantage.

As such, if your character's Holoform has hard light, and is 'injured' in game play, some sort of backlash or neurological pain needs to transfer to your character to cause appropriate, reasonable damage.
