"Oh well at least that will be convenient for you if you get hurt." She gave the other femme a pleasant smile. It was always nice when someone in a group knew how to patch up things, even if just a little. Serotype having been an actual doctor changed things a little. If they happened to get in a scuffle then at least they would both be better prepared for the aftereffects.
Her smile never faltered as she gave the other femme a nod. "Of course I shall lead, no trouble at all." Though she didn't really know this area much she still had no problem with leading. Her optics roved over everything as she began to move, keeping her sharp gaze trained around them just in case. They were both now deep in enemy territory and in big trouble if they were spotted.
The chance that they would be engaged was pretty high. Velocity just hoped that any group they encountered wouldn't be too large. "This way then. Slow going at first, we are still far too close to anything dangerous."
"And convenient for you should anything happen to you," said Serotype.
She kept under the cover of the canyon's overhang. Every so often she'd look up and try to see if she could spot anything up above.
"we still have some cover offered by this canyon. However, we may have to find ourselves another canyon should we encounter any open spaces," said Serotype.
It really would be convienient for her should anything happen and there was no reason to comment on it as such. Instead she kept silent and kept moving. The sooner they got away from this area the better. Velocity wasn't really interested in being engaged in combat but knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Walking into the mouth of the beast had you soon in the belly after all.
Her long fingered hands were slid into the hilt's housed on the outside of her thighs. If they were to be attacked at any point she would not be caught off guard and scrambling for one of her weapons dammit. Turning she focused on Serotype, hearing the other speak to her.
"Sooner or later we will have to be out in the open. Then it will be the time for speed and little else. Just be prepared. The likelihood of us getting out of here without encountering anything is slim to none." Hearing a noise overhead just as she finished speaking had her plastering her back against the canyon wall so fast that she could feel the stone gouge into her plating and silently cursed at her luck.
Serotype also heard the noise. It sounded like a jet engine. She saw Velocity instantly plaster herself against the rock face. Even Serotype found herself reaching for her blades as she tried peering up at the source of the noise.
Surely enough - one Vehicon jet. But why one? Serotype narrowed her eyes.
"Odd. They typically fly in pairs," said Serotype.
She was about to get her answer as she looked more towards the edge of the canyon. There, surrounding both she and Velocity around the edges of the canyon were the ground-pounding Eradicons.
Serotype drew both her blades and replied, "You were saying."
Even Vel was aware that they flew in pairs, a smart practice to be sure. She had encountered them enough before to have this knowledge at least. Which was why her optics narrowed when she followed Serotype's line of sight. A low groan escaped her and the blades she had been holding on to were now pulled free from their sheaths without a sound. The energon charged weapons she only used for close combat, when she was forced into it. Looking at the crowd of Eradicons and the fact that it was only her and her newfound companion against them, yes she would need them and now!
“Funny how every time I am cautious the things I worry about actually happen!” Her tone was upset and annoyed and she let out a low grinding growl before taking off at a full speed run toward the Eradicons. She was not about to try and take on the damned flyer as she was not the type that could fly herself. Besides that she absolutely hated flying and didn't want to end up somehow caught on the damned thing.
Luckily for her she was faster than others expected her to be because of her sheer size. It usually allowed her to do exactly what it was she planned on doing. Though the trick only worked once per group of enemies. Taking advantage of their surprise she barreled right on into the middle of the group and sliced upward at one of the Eradicons with both blades. Her speed lended her a hand in splitting the hapless mech into three pieces just as she zoomed through the group and on the other side. Maybe not the best idea but she wasn't really a warrior or a strategist either! "Tag you're it!"
Before Serotype could say that this was a "self-fulfilling prophecy," Velocity had already engaged the enemies. With out another moment's pause, Serotype powered on her VTOLs and flew up to the top of the canyon to fight the Eradicons perched upon them. She took the center point in the middle of a small group of Vehicons. Using one blade to block and the other to attack, she moved in circular motions ensuring to strike fluid heavy areas. She wanted them to suffer before she got anywhere close to their spark. She was angry and full of hate towards them. This much reflected in her EMF.
The jet hadn't come down to join them yet. Instead, it kept circling. As though it were a shark waiting for his right moment to strike.
The first thought to cross Vel's mind wasn't pleasant as she watched Serotype fly upward. She couldn't help it, having a past issue with flyers in general. Though she wasn't thinking rude thoughts directly at the other femme it was just that 'fraggin flyers' and nothing more. Not much else was thought about however as she was suddenly and rather massively engaged by what was a small group against one. Her memory conjured up days of doing things like this with the twins and her spark ached for them, but they were no longer from what she had read. Primus but she missed watching them, and hearing them. Always helped to have them fighting with her to, since she wasn't that good at it.
Two of the Vehicons caught her by surprise as she was trying to tackle another one head on. There was a slice upward and she could feel her back plating split some just before she jumped back with a curse. Damn, that was going to be a pain to have fixed. It would mean a trip back to base, where she really didn't want to go. What was there for her to go back to?
The two that were at her back came surging forward and all Vel could think to do was grab the one she had been engaging, surprising the mech, and throw him at the oncoming duo. Widened optics all around as one crashed into two with enough force to send all three flying. “Come on now guys, take it easy here I'm only one femme.” So she had taken out two, technically four but there was a chance the other three just might get up. There was only one other one standing. Just what had Serotype done to have this kind of entourage come after her?
Serotype's EMF was a thick prickling veil of fury. She wasted no time in landing a blade strike against her nearest enemies. With a thrust, she managed to puncture the chest plating on one vehicon and get his spark. Looking around for a moment, she realized that she was starting to become swarmed.
With a sweeping kick of her leg and her VTOLs powered up, Serotype kicked up a thick plume of dust to use as a cover. She drove her blades forward when she felt something stab her just above her hip on her left side. She winced and spun around to slice at whoever landed that hit. She managed a VTOL powered jump to remove herself from the frey.
Glancing downwards, Serotype could see Velocity engaging an opponent. Well... perhaps two. She saw one the vehicons get back up and get behind Velocity. That didn't bode well. Instead, Serotype dove off the side of the canyon flipping in midair to angle herself in a flying-falling dive at the vehicon. She swooped in at top speed and knocked him away in a high speed tackle.
Serotype startled both Velocity and the vehicon's that were around her. For a moment everyone stopped and stared at her like some star of a great show that just started. Then that moment was broken when Vel herself piped up. “Well that was some fancy maneuvering there. Join the party!” Frag her back hurt and she could feel the dripping sensation start. She may be able to take a lot of damage but that didn't mean she was used to it or even liked it. There were some out there who did like it, she could easily name a few of those but right not it was time to hopefully get this close to over with so they could move on.
“Thanks for the assist!” Vel's mouth split into a huge grin which twitched a little from the pain surge when she turned to meet one of the other vehicons who had gotten brave and made it's way closer to her from the side. It wasn't that the injury was a bad one but it was terribly placed. Every time she moved her torso it spread open just a little more. Fraggers and their well placed blows. She was going to need a welding for sure, and perhaps lessons on how to dodge better. With all her speed she shouldn't be getting hit as much but the adrenaline rush of being in the middle of things was intoxicating.
Intead of directly confronting the smaller mech she tossed her energon infused short sword up in the air to catch it in a different hold, gave the slaggin bastard a feral grin and threw it at him. Velocity was a sniper yes but another hidden talent she didn't usually find a use for was dead aim when throwing things. As she had hoped, and figured but now was not the time to toot her own horn, the blade sunk itself deep in the vehicon's chest and it fell over with a cloud of dust rising around it. That left her with only one blade unfortunately but her fingers, clawlike as they were, would be a good replacement if needed.
Her blades twisted in wide archs making diagonal slashes in to the swarm of angry bodies. That had only some effect on the flurry of wrist-mounted punch blades that made it back to her. At least on a few occasions, she had been cut at or dented.
Glancing at Velocity, Setrotype knew that this fight had to be ended soon.
"Velocity! I have an idea BUT we NEED to move up wind from here. Do you think that's manageable?" asked Serotype.
“Moving upwind?” Looking around as quickly as she could without leaving herself too vulnerable she ex-vented in annoyance. Sure it was manageable but it wouldn't be easy and might leave them wide open on the way there. Optics flashing angrily, not at the other femme but the inconvenience of the entire situation, she nodded. “We can make it sure, but we will be wide open the entire time!”
There wasn't much else to say then, just wait and see what Serotype would or rather wanted to do. Meanwhile Vel took a literal flying leap and landed in a run toward the vehicon that had her other weapon buried in him and hit the mech hard when she collided with their chest plating. “Give me this back you fragger.” The bot in question was very dead and well crushed after her weight landed on it. Wrenching the blade back and forth had her twisting her torso and she was so annoyed that they even hit her.
“That is what I get for being too cocky, per usual.” Your move Serotype, Vel thought as she righted herself again and gave the other femme a meaningful look.
"We won't be wide open for long, I can assure you," said Serotype.
She reconnected one blade to her back and palmed a canister. She used the other blade still in her hands in a sweeping blocking motion. Once she was certain that Velocity was upwind, Serotype hurled the canister in to the crowd. It smashed against the ground and a blue gaseous plume could be seen rising from the middle of the vehicon swarm.
Serotype backed up quickly to join Velocity. She withdrew the second blade. Already, she could see vehicons slowing down and being infected with the fumes. She wasn't thinking about what Velocity thought about all this. Instead, she was thinking about what was the best strategy for dealing with multiple enemies in an effective way.
"Weaponized rust rash. Fast acting, annoying and rather itchy. Wait for the plume to dissipate and then attacking would be much easier," said Serotype as she joined Velocity's side.
Taking the ex-'Con at her word Velocity took off for the area that Serotype indicated, at least for a short bit. Her curiosity wouldn't allow her to get too far, she wanted to see what the other femme was up to. Turning quickly on her heel to catch the action however was such a terrible idea. The plating along her back split even farther and only her iron will stopped her from crying out in pain. The trickle of energon that dripped from the damage was causing other areas to become almost itchy. It had been far too long since she had been in a scuffle so obviously she had left herself too vulnerable.
Watching the other mecha was an odd experience. So many emotions ran through her at that moment in time that she was left reeling for just a split second. It was so wrong to do something like that but at the same time incredibly effective. That part of her, the one she didn't let out often, or often enough, was entirely too gleeful at the idea.
"Effective. Scary too, I like it." As good as Velocity was there was other parts of her, reasons why she had the job she did and had gotten close to certain other bots. However she did maintain that she was still a good mech at spark, no matter anything else. "Such a useful mecha you are!"
She made sure to wait a long enough time, rust rash would not be fun. With quite the enthusiastic yell she brandished both of her blades and ran back into the group like a whirlwind of violence.
Serotype also joined the frey. There wasn't many vehicons left. The vehicon jet seemed to be just observing. That was fine to Serotype. If there was one thing for that jet to take back it was this fight as a message.
She dashed in with her blades whirling about in a coordinated destructive dance. The rust rash was making it easier to cut her enemies down. There was two more vehicons left on the field. Serotype quickly glanced at Velocity before rushing to her own target. This fight was almost over.
